Rodney Smith Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I sold my NRX822 DSR because I want a longer rod. I tend to cast out vs drop shot vertically. I prefer to stay in the Loomis family. A friend mentioned GLX 892s. Any recommendations? Quote
Super User ATA Posted May 23, 2021 Super User Posted May 23, 2021 I have conquest 842c and 842s for dropshotting. and they are perfect, I use spinning for light weight and use bait casting for powershotting. Quote
Super User NHBull Posted May 23, 2021 Super User Posted May 23, 2021 That GLX would definitely fit the bill! on a side note, I love my 822, but then I go longer and heavier, I reach for https://www.alphaangler.com/products/clutch-power-finesse I really love some of their stuff Quote
5by3 Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I’ve seen the 872 mentioned a lot but haven’t fished it myself. Quote

For the purposes of drop shotting I give the edge to the NRX. Unfortunately I sold both because I was mostly fishing from a kayak and both those rods are overkill. Quote
