I think I had one order that took two weeks to get to me, but most stuff shows up about a week after I ordered it. Maybe I'm also lucky. ?

Good to know.  But I’m going to aim for the 16 day wait and maybe if it truly is a 16 day wait, maybe we can make and sell t-shirts saying, “I survived the TW 16-day wait.” And at the bottom of the shirt the words “BR for Life” and a line up of of the numerous monkeys ? in mug shot form. Bait monkey, Boat Monkey, Tackle (Rods and Reels) monkey. I ain’t talking about the hear no, see no and speak no monkeys, either, lol.

I’m glad you posted this. I hope everyone reads it twice. There is allot going on.

Part of me realizes this but part of me also says that everyone else is in a similar situation yet they have managed to recover for the most part and are getting their orders out the door to their customers close to if not the same timeframe as before Covid hit! It also is odd how TW can get your order out the door if you pony up for expedited shipping but if not it takes 16 days.

So are y'all saying I might want to call about this bone Vixen?  I've been waiting for it to show up any day now.

In my experience, TW is pretty bad at shipping out backordered products that you placed an order on.

The worse part of their backorder policy is that they won't ship any until all are in stock.

Ran into that this past year - two items were backordered, one came in just a couple weeks after the initial shipment - but the other kept getting put off further and further...and they wouldn't ship the first until they had the second on hand to ship.

Finally canceled the one that kept getting it's expected date shoved out - and they shipped the other one...I'd found the one they couldn't get in stock (for what ever reason) at three other places.

Yup. I've experienced that as well.

I like TW, great website, great products, weekly new item videos, etc. However lately it has changed. Not sure if it is Covid, supply, demand, or jacked-up California over regulation. I have 2 orders from last fall with several backordered items. The website says they are in stock. I emailed and they said they would be getting backorders filled soon. I got another email saying one out of four would be sent out soon? Hopefully they get back on track.

TW just executed a shimano warranty replacement of an expride 7'7"H in one week, I shipped Friday and received it the following Friday.  To me, that's an exceptional turn around to/from Chicago/NorCal.  I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt till CA changes their workplace covid restrictions.

Like most on here, I love TW and will continue to....later.  I have found other avenues to get the, admittedly, small number of items I need throughout the year.  I do my restocks around Christmas with all the deals and gift cards.  For now, I'm getting the things I need from other, and often smaller, companies I enjoy working with.  Having to pay extra for expedited shipping from TW for my little orders just isn't worth it to me.  They will rebound or they will wither, die, and someone else will take their place.  As long as it isn't Johnny Morris, we'll be fine.  :)

Does anyone else think it's odd that we aren't really talking about BPS?  Does ANYONE buy from them anymore, other than stik-o's and square bills?  I was just in a BPS a couple of days ago.  Got some Paca Craws that were a whole dollar more expensive per bag than you can get online.  I do not understand their business model anymore.  As far as I can tell, they are basically a tourism company now.  It was 9am on a Tuesday, the store had maybe 10 people in it (old guys like me) and people still bugging me about signing up for vacation packages.  It's like..."Good Lord!  Leave me alone"

Great post. BPS has been a joke for a long time. They are about house brand these day. This started moons ago. Was not always like that. They were at one time full line dealers of some manufacturers.

But everyone has different takes, I’m more about a particular item in a particular pattern. Certain rod or reel. Not walking out of a place with something other than what I wanted or what my intentions were. The store is the big winner than.

But again I realize not all stores and what people have available to them are equal.

If I was more motivated I'd look and see if Tackle Warehouse's sister companies were also using delayed shipping. But I'm not.

I get a yearly catalog from BPS and have done so since the mid nineties. You can still order by phone. Did a check and you can find competitors products like Abu Garcia, Lew's, Shimano,  Berkley, St. Croix, G. Loomis, Fenwick, Falcon, Duckett, Daiwa and others. Zoom and Strike King are prominent.

I've never had a problem with BPS. I own their rods and reels. The Pro Qualifier, Carbonlite 2.0 and Bionic Blade rods are all very good right off the rack.  All bought when on sale ...

Johnny Morris has gone a long way from a little room in the back of a country store. I'd say he had a very good business model ...

Good Fishing ...

Did I miss a new law that everyone has to buy from Tackle Warehouse or something? Did we lose the freedom to choose where we spend our money? Spend your money elsewhere if you don't like their processing speed, this isn't hard.

Stop thinking logically, it’s unacceptable.......

im glad I have never relied on mail or tackle

I agree with basically everything you have said and I too have their rods and reels.  They are good products that are competitively priced.  My old PQ's are warhorses that have just gotten better with age.  My old green "Power Hump" Extreme rod is STILL my favorite rod and I held a JM Signature casting rod the other day that felt fantastic in my hand.  What ISN'T competitively priced are their prices on name brand soft baits and lures, iMHO.  I'm not a hater and I enjoy wandering around a BPS but I'm not paying a buck or more for soft baits and 2 or 3 dollars per hard bait more at BPS that I can other places just because they want me to pay less for THEIR brand that they knocked off.  It's not even that a lot of their knock offs are bad.  Stik-O's are great baits.  Their square bills and tubes are great.  Their Kermy frog is TERRIBLE.  It's just a predatory business model that turns me off.  I buy from there, sure, but it's definitely not my first choice and based on what I see on Bass Resource, isn't too many others, either.

Well, since we’re going the logical route, it’s logical to realize that a message board is for discussing topics. And I don’t remember seeing anyone saying they are required to buy from tackle warehouse. In fact, most of the posts are stating their money is going elsewhere due to the issues tackle warehouse is having.

This subforum is for fishing tackle discussion. Not whining about shipping delays and comparing Joe's Tackle Shop down the street that can ship me my order in 3 days, why can't Tackle Warehouse ship it in 3 days too. I'm glad people are voting with their wallet. But there's zero need to bash an online retailer, just spend your money elsewhere and be done with it. This is literally the first link on their website's news post: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com//catpage-SHIPUPDATE.html
