Guys, guys, just turn your attention to YUM if you want some cheap and effective baits. Or don't and leave them all to me, I don't care either way but don't want everyone getting so worked up about it. I've got more YUM than Zoom in my boat and if I had to go all the YUM baits tomorrow, I doubt I'd miss them. Plus they do bulk packs of a lot of their baits, which is huge plus in my book.

Yum Pulse Swim Bait: Swim Bait Jig Head , Weighted EWG Hook  or as a Swim Jig / Bladed Jig Trailer

Yum Dinger: T-Rigged with VMC Drop Dead 3/32nd weighted 3/0 EWG Hook

Yum Christie Craw: Shakey Head , Swim Jig / Bladed Jig Trailer

Yum Houdini Shad: Bladed Jig Trailer

*Bluebasser86 for the win ... All of the above from Yum  are "money" applications which I would fish against any other soft plastics company - regardless of cost ! Lastly , I am from Georgia and grew up with Zoom soft plastics as the company is in my home state . Lately however , availability of some of my favorite Zoom baits (Z-Craw Jr. , Ultravibe Speed Craw) have been tough to find . This leaves the door open to explore other similar baits from Yum , Net Bait , Gambler , etc.

They make a good finesse worm, magnum finesse worm, the Spine Craw replaces the Speed Craw, Craw Papi is a good standard craw bait, the Christie Craw is more of a flapping craw that I love on a jig, Houdini is better than a fluke imo, and obviously the YUM Dinger is a good stick worm. I'm not going to argue which is better, but as they say in sports "Sometimes the best kind of ability is availability", and while everyone's been scrambling to find any pack of Zoom they can, I'm buying 30 and 100 packs of YUM any day of the week ?‍♂️

While I totally agree with you on Yum baits, crawbug has landed me more smallies than all other plastics combined, I think the point is we could potentially be losing a US based pouring house if true. In an unstable world it would be really nice to have 3 large pouring houses in country. I know of Big Bite, Yum, and Zoom. Not sure where Strike King and Berkley source their products from.

I know there are probably some smaller companies, but not sure if they pour their own or source them from elsewhere, probably a mix. Not sure if these companies could scale up or if they have to outsource if they grow too much. I know at one point I talked to a Kalins rep and their baits were outsourced to a pouring house somewhere in the US was the answer I got.

Maybe I am missing something and most plastics are sourced from the US, but I would be surprised if that were true.

I would be too. Further, I suspect that the larger the company, the greater the likelihood that its products are made offshore.

I know that most of what I buy are, except Keitechs.  Zoom (except for one toad/frog that ain't worth buying), Yum, Missile, Big Bites, Berkley, Netbait, the Strike Kings I use (Rage craws), Yamamoto, Z-man, and Case all have Made In the USA labels from what I've seen.

It seems to me the sentiment is the potential for losing favorite baits.  I'll admit I searched to see if there was anything official, but I hope we're all worrying for no reason.

I actually have more Zoom products than YUM, but I will second the opinion that they are amazing plastics. Most of my bass caught last year were on YUM cranberry finesse worms in all colors of water.

I love my Zoom baits. I haven't used Yum since they quit making the 7" Salamander. Might have to pick up some of their lizards and the Wooly Bug, looks like it could give the Z craw a run for its money.

For what its worth they have been putting some money into advertising in Precision Rifle shooting. They have been a sponser for a few matches and a guy I shoot with over here is sponsored by them. Sponsorship doesnt pay or anything but he gets a lot of free stuff and gear to wear for advertising.

Not sure if thats a good sign they have the money to throw to that or bad and they are trying to drum up more business. Cant imagine the latter with how long they have been around but you never know.

I’m going to have stock up on all the zoom flukes!  They are honestly one of the best producing soft plastics. I catch everything on em

I might gravitate towards Zoom when low on flukes, tricks,  or lizards...(as if that could ever happen)....but reality is that I wouldn't miss them much.

Besides....it seems like every month there is another 10% increase in soft plastic choices just at TW....so many baits... so little time
