I'm needing a new headlamp for night fishing this summer. I plan on picking up a new flashlight also.                                                               Are there any brands that have worked especially well for you? I'm interested in a small but powerful pocket size flashlight, and a good durable, dependable headlamp. I'll be both bank and boat fishing.                                                   Thanks in advance

I use the head lamps that clip onto my hat. The last ones I bought I think were from Academy they cost maybe $3-4. I bought 4 or 5 of them and they are working well for me.

The only flashlights I buy are MagLites - whether it's a 1-AAA battery micro on my key-fob, or a 3-D battery magnum. A couple of mine are 10 years old and still on the original LED.

My pocket one is a 2-AAA Mini - and I use rechargeable batteries too.

Not a fan of headlamps. I do like me one of these and clip it right to my shirt. I keep it in the glovebox.

As far as regular flashlights, I have a rechargeable Fenix tactical light that is 1000 lumens. Not cheap but I think worth every penny.

Petal & small maglites.

when the sun goes down the energizer lamp gets put atop my head. Its a lifesaver when shore fishing at night trying to put lures on, rummaging through the tackle box and cleaning fish.

Big time fan of weightless and USB-charge Nitecore NU-20.

$30

Hands-free for rigging, and a wide range in brightness settings from just-rite-nite-lite to blind-your-neighbor-should-you-choose.

Also a funny story - went looking for mine.
Oh no, it was in a clothing article that went through the wash.
Works perfectly...
