I think color choice comes down to confidence. Lots of colors can work well, but if you " think" you'll catch fish on a certain color, you'll probably do better on it.

The most consistent one is the one I most consistently fish!  It's probably green pumpkin with blue flake, or watermelon with red flake.

With a Senko it’s #956 watermelon with copper flake/orange with red flake. hands-down. #297 green pumpkin w/black flake is a distant second.

My go-to colors are always either morning dawn or any variation of green with gold flake.

If it has Watermelon in its name I am happy. Also a bluish or purple color gets equal shared time.

I’ll also add cranberry and scuppernong to the list. These five colors totaled have accounted for a vast majority of my catches in shaky head and T-Rig. However, the three listed up top are dead nuts my honey and sugar.

This is not the order of my top 3. Guess a favorite is tough to pick. But Black, Gr. Pump., and pumpkinseed would be my choices. For a t-rig worm.

Underrated texas color for sure.

 

And for the most consistent color, at least in a senko, is GP/watermelon laminate. For whateve reason I bought off on Gary's comment about making the color because he was tired of trying to decide whether to throw GP or throw watermelon. I think I like the GP/watermelon laminate because darker back lighter belly is a common thing in much of what they eat anyway. Not a fan of the black and blue/junebug laminates though.

Definitely green pumpkin for me, but I've had luck with various watermelon colors, junebug and motor oil and some others

Same here, my 2 go to colors.  Watermelon/black/red flake can be subbed with green pumpkin.
