Soft plastic responsiveness

[Smells like fish]

What soft plastic am I looking for when I want to barely inch it along but get a response of movement from it? 
I was throwing a max scent Berkeley purple worm dragging it through cattails and letting it fall between the holes in the cover and was wondering if I could have used a better plastic lure there? The fish were liking it fine but maybe I could have done even better?

Soft plastics that are mass produced use injection molded equipment. Injection molded plastisol is not as soft or as ductile as a good hand pour or Roboworm robotic hand pours. Hand pours have a flat side because the mold is open on the top. 

Roboworms, Iovino worms, Uptons Customs worms have more movement n the fall. Softer also means you use more per bass caught and cost more per unit.

Are you asking about finesse? There a a lot of techniques that fit the bill in that category.

If you're catching fish with one plastic, try switching to something of a different shape or color before moving. I've paired up with many guys that would catch fish that I'd targeted with a worm or a jig. From the back of the boat, too.

Whenever I read one of these, I just keep thinking of 2 specific movements and shapes that I know bass key in on that are not produced by anyone. One day, I will cast my own molds. One won’t be that hard. It’s just a matter of making the molds. The second one, is probably either beyond my skill level or is going to take more time to perfect than I’ll ever have.

Everyday is different, so its hard to know exactly how the fish will react to a certain bait on any given day unless you try using it.

Who is to say that a different plastic would have done better? It could have done worse. Only the bass can tell you if they liked one more than another on that day. It’s like color. Maybe, the color made a difference, maybe it didn’t.  You can make yourself crazy trying to out guess a fish with all of the thousands of combinations available.

Yes but most are hard to find 

 

Lake Fork Tackle Worm is 8-10", both stay sold out in every color.

 

Bonehead Ringworms if you can find them
