If so, how are you using it? I ran into a guy at a local lake, and he was catching bass with an archaic Creme worm in, uh, earth worm (color name?) color.  Heck, I haven't seen that bait since the 70's, and I had no idea they were still in business. I was amazed at the fact that the young man (31) knew what it was, and the bait was still effective after all these years. He was using a six inch worm with no weight which produced nice results.

The old stuff still works just as good.

No one told the bass to keep up with the times.

I have picked up some Creme soft plastics from the value bin at Walmart. They work fine.

One of my favorites is the Mann's augertail. Still catches bass pretty good.

Great! How are you using it, though?

One of the best worms of all time. My brother and I bought our first pack at a hardware store in Chillicothe Mo, a long time ago. One of the first and original plastic worms. The always popular Zoom Trick Worm is almost a direct copy of the Creme Scoundrel. I bought two 3 packs of the original earthworm color at Wal Mart recently. My favourite color is purple. I t rig them with 1/8 to 1/4 oz sinker and 3/0 straight shank hook. One of the greatest bass lures ever made, hands down. I think there's quite a few guys here on BR that still use them.

My 15 year old nephew and I used that very color and worm in the last week. Caught bass and crappie on it! I have been a fan of Creme lures since I first started fishing! I also used their top water hardbait this week and it accounted for bass and bluegill!! Cremes not dead!!!

I grew up fishing Creme worms.  Grape was always the best color around here.  I fish the worms weightless, on a split shot rig, and on a t-rig with 1/8 or 3/16 weight.

I could be wrong but I believe I saw where on line that DICK’S or Sportsman’s warehouse sells that Creme in more of a bulk pack. Might help ya. Been years since I’ve fished one. Wish I had one to try again.

I started bass fishing as a young teenager in the early sixties.  I caught my first keeper bass on a rigged Creme Scoundrel using a Mitchell 300.  Later when tournaments first started, I bought Creme worms in bags of 100.  They were then and still are some of the best worms on the market.  I have seen them fished every way imaginable.  Once in a Federation tournament, I fished with a guy who fished them with a swivel 12" in front and no weight.  He threaded the worm on the hook so the worm would spin.  He caught bass all day. I found out later he was Top Rod in his club.  You can still buy Creme worms today. I don't because I use Zoom Trick worms instead. The Zoom Trick worm is by far the best bass catching worm ever produced.

Yeah man! Trick Worm is the evolution of the Creme worm. And their 4" Finesse Worm is a great replacement for the old do-nothing type worms. When the bite gets really tough here in the heat of summer, I'll rig up a light weight C rig with a finesse worm.

Our local hardware store still sells the pre-rigged Creme worms with 2 weedless hooks and with a prop on front.

When I was a kid I remember my dad showing how to tie up a 2-hook worm rig. We had no prop on ours though.

Funny story.  When I retired and moved to Central Florida, I joined the local Federation Bass Club.  It didn't take me long to figure out who was the best fisherman in that club.  We became good friends and still are.  I was always trying to pry information out of him and he was always kidding me about it.  One day he said as a joke, "All you want to do is suck out all my secrets and leave me a hollow shell on the beach!"   You had to be there.  Another time we were in a tackle shop together and I picked up a bag of Zoom Finesse worms.  He looked at me with a serious look and said "You are not allowed to use those."  It didn't take me long to find out why.

I worms fish for the most part t-rig, drop shot and split shot. And do it on the smaller side. Have a real phobia about fishing worms larger than  7”. This has probably cost me nice fish over the years.

The Zoom Finesse is right there as one of my top 3 worms. Has a larger profile than a Berkley and RoboWorm. I find that sometimes helps or doesn’t hurt.

They work just as good on bass as the day they were released. But you will have a hard time selling that notion to the current bass fisherman.

I have a pack of creme worms that I got for a buck at walmart. They're basically your typical senko-style worm, and they're 5" long. I have to say that I like them better than Yum dingers, and I always grab them if I see them.

When I first started following my dad around the bank bass fishing he was catching them on a natural colored creme worm that he tied himself. It was the first lure that I used. I and I thought I still had one or two laying around but couldn't find them.

I ordered some last year and tried my hand at tying them up the way he did. I wish I had ordered some other colors but I'll get around to that.

He used to run a line up through the worm with a needle. He ended up with 2 or 3 hooks with the line running through the worm. I played with it and got it to work with two hooks but I'm pretty sure he had three. He's 83 and still fishing but he doesn't remember how he tied them up. It's just a floating worm pre-rigged in a much nicer way than the factory rigs.

I always fished it with a swivel...shame on me but it was a small snap/swivel. The swivel does two things. It keeps this crazy thing from twisting your line as you twitch it through the water and it puts a little weight in the nose which helps get the action that I'm after. You could just use a worm hook like any other floating worm but the action this gets is a little different. I don't know if the fish care but I like it.

Someday I'll learn how to post pics on this site.

I have a friend who uses these in the natural color all the time and he does real good.

I caught my first bass on that very worm! I haven't used the Creme worm in many years, but I still have some NOS vintage 60s Creme worms in the package.
