Not familiar with either, but I phoned a friend and I'm going with the one that bests suits your needs and the baits you will be fishing with it, final answer.

They are way different action/power between those 2 rods, what are you planning to throw with the rod?

I have not tried an edge rod, however I do have an IMX pro 893 for my smaller jigs and I love it! Anything Loomis makes is bound to be good. With that said I have a 765 flip Dobyns Fury, I really like that rod. I have caught everything from small bass to 25 lb sting wrays in salt water. Not a bad this to say about it. Choose which rod will best suit your needs and type of fishing you do.

I would use the dobyns for flipping and fish my other rod for everything that doesn't require heavy action

If I got the edge I would use it as my main and throw all of my heavy lures on my other rod

I say go with the Edge rod. REALLY love the 3 I have and plan to get a few more. The carbon handles are very nice. My new favorite handle style for sure

Carbon fiber grips don't look comfortable, but they are fine. When I first saw them I thought they would be slick when wet, they are not. I first started using them on bottom contact rods only, because I'm usually holding the reel anyway. After actually getting on the water with them, they have become my favorite grips. I use them on every rod now, regardless of what its intended purpose is.

You will have to wait for 2 months or so to get ypur edge rod in the mail, but I would still do it.  The NFC blanks are superb.

They were more than worth the wait for sure. I got my first one in a store locally. My second took about 6 weeks, 3rd took about 2 or 3 weeks. The sensitivity of them is impressive. I still love my Kistler Helium rods, but these Edge rods are my new favorites.

The black widow drop shot rod, casting version, is the 2nd and 3rd rods I got from them. I like the first enough to get another, it was $100 off on sale, so I did it. I use it for small to medium bottom contact worms and such. So sensitive that I can feel the fish's personality. I plan to get a spinnerbait rod, flipping/jig rod, one of their hybrid cranking rods from them.  Plans change sometimes though. I am always checking out other rods available.

I had good service from them overall.

Now I just got to finish cleaning and lubing a few of my reels this morning, then off to the lake to start making them dirty again. life is awesome

I sometime venture into Edge Rod websites.  I always quietly back out.  the website is a hot-mess.
