What colors/size work best with the Bullet Pop? Does it stay in the strike zone well? Is it durable?

In addition to your popper purchasing I suggest you look on the Creme lures website at a less than 3” walking lure they sale. I know Blue knows the lure I speak of and in the same situation that you would use that popper, I throw instead this small great walking lure with better results for me.

I think the one I have is the 70 size. It's bone colored, it cast as advertised, is easy to fish, comes with good hooks, and I haven't had any durability issues.

I use all 70 size in 3 colors. Bone, Maverick, and Perfect Ghost. Love these lures although I do replace the hooks with #4 Owner stingers for the front hook and the Berkley Fusion #4 feathered treble for the back when the stock ones go full.

I ended up getting 6 of them, 3 in the 60 size (Ghost Bluegill, Ghost White and OG Blue) and 3 in the 70 size (MF Frog, Danald and Maverick). They look well made and I like the colors...hopefully the bass will too :D.

I like them a lot. I’m not gonna say they’re the best poppers you can get but for the money I feel they’re pretty solid. The Fusion hooks are pretty good too.

So which would that be?

Oooh that’s a good question. In my opinion the best is probably the Megabass Poppers. They walk really easy and spit really good. They’re also $20+ per bait so that’s why I said ,for the money, the bullet pops are probably my favorite.

Every Pop Max and Pop X I own, I won from guys who think they are the best poppers. I open up my box and ask them to pick which popper they want me to fish with, winner keeps the other guys popper. Sucker bet, kind of the piscatorial 3 card monte.

My vote for best for the money popper (fished stock) is the Zell Pop/Boss Pop, both sizes.

Have never tried either of those. I’ll have to give them a shot.

Yup I have some of the small ones of these too. I like to have a couple of different brands/kinds/sizes as they usually all have subtle to sometimes great differences.

With the Bullet Pop you have the 60 , 70 & 80 series (from smallest to largest size) . It really all depends on the size of your forage - Ghost , Shad , Chrome  and Bone colors could work in all three sizes . The Blue Gill , Bone and Baby Bass colors would be most popular in the middle 70 size . The 80 series largest size would be best  best for the Frog , Black and Blue Gill colors (unless the water is muddy and you need to up size to the 80 series just to have the Boss Pop to become visible for the Bone color  to show up) . *Interesting to note that with  competitors who offer more than one size popper - more often than not it's the smaller size 60 series popper that is sold out (2.25" ~ 2.50" size) while the largest size 70 and 80 series remain in stock . Since my store only had the 70 series size - I bought Baby Bass , Bone and Ghost Bluegill to try as my waters are clear to slightly stained . There was no Maverick (Black) in stock but I imagine that would be great at night in the summer time to throw .

I own 2 or 3 Pop Max. I doubt I've caught 10 fish total on all of them despite repeated efforts. I've got a Zell pop with more scratches than paint left, best popper I've ever fished. I thought I lost it once and even offered a reward to anyone that found it and returned it to me ?

You must not have a lot of pike and pickerel where you fish...   ?

I love topwater baits, especially those Megabass numbers with the incredible finishes.  And then I see that high-speed wake approaching and there's no time to react...  gone.

That should be a limited edition custom color.

Absolutely none.  Zebra mussel covered rocks are the biggest bait stealers here.

We have pike, pickerel and Zebra Mussels.  I'm just hoping we never have Zebra Mussel-covered pike and pickerel...   ?

Forget colors, all you need is a dark one and a light one, it’s all about the when, where, and how.

That's my philosophy with topwater.  Colors matter a lot more with submerged baits.  With topwaters, all the fish see is the silhouette or the flash.  Topwaters are more about the sound, size, cadence, etc.

Looking at the colors, I would probably go with Bone, Maverick, and Ghost bluegill

Yup, I got most of those (instead of Bone I went with Ghost White) plus the Frog, Danald (shad looking) and the flashy OG Blue for those bright sunny days.
