Braid and "not too noisy" don't really belong in the same sentence.  Some are noisier than others.  Seaguar Smackdown isn't too obnoxious.

I have Berkeley big game 30 and 65lb braid and I use them for jigging/top water. Usually don’t notice noise. 20lb power pro and spiderwire are quieter and I like them a lot more as lines. Especially the power pro. 
 

I had yozuri I got from recommendations and I have never had so much trouble with a braid. 10, 20, and 30lb all just so sticky, wind knots, the 20 broke off under very little pressure...just bleh. I gave up on it and got more power pro.  I recommend it 10-30lb. At 65 and up I like big game cause it’s cheap.

The braids with the higher "carrier" counts will be quieter than the ones with lower counts.  They will be more expensive, but worth it in my opinion.  Braids last a long time, can be years depending on how often they are used.  Hitena Pure Line is my favorite.  I use 21 pound test because I want a stout line for bonefish, then use it for bass/pike/walleyes when I'm home.   It is very small diameter so you can get a lot on the reel if you want, and it casts like other 10 pound test braids.

Power pro superslick has been the only braid I've used for a while now. It is pretty quiet

I'm swapping out all my Power Pro for Sufix 832 - I'd go Smackdown, but it's a bit more cost than my budget allows for full braid-replacement.

Power pro is loud.  Suffix 832 is very quiet in my experience.  Power pro or other 4 carrier braids are loud, but cut vegetation better than an 8 or more carrier braid like 832.  I use some of both, but mostly 832.

This is my choice too, but I haven't branched out to other brands in years.

Berkley X9 for smoothness and strength. I run the X5 on my ned setup and love it but the X9 is even better.

I like Power Pro Maxquatro. A bit more money, but I like how thin it is for the strength and you get a lot more line on your spool so it lasts longer after reties.

 

Regular PP is good too in my experience.

 

All the other braids I have used had issues.

A quiet line is Tuf Line Domin8.  It also gets a little more distance, and I've been using the yellow on my spinning setups.  I feel the louder lines cut through grass better.  If your fishing spatterdock or even hydrilla I'd go with Power Pro or Tuf Line XP.

I had to do a search as I'd never heard of Berkley Big Game Braid.  Learn something new every day!

 

OP, my Original PowerPro is not well broken in yet.  It is a very noisy line new.  Sufix 832 is quiet.  Fins is quiet.  Daiwa Samurai is quiet.  A quick check on TW shows almost 50 different types of braid.  I will not be trying them all. 

 

Right now I am trying 3 of the types offered by Fins.  I also plan on trying PowerPro Maxcuatro on a casting reel and YGK Soul Sinking on both casting and spinning.

IMO dollar for dollar X9 is tough to beat.  It casts well, knots well, it doesn't fray and get ropey as fast as some other braids at its price point.  If you want a braid for fishing grass or cover check out Vicious.  When I first spooled it up I wasn't happy because it wasn't very smooth I could feel the weave in it.  All that doubt went away after the first few casts.

I've become a Japan X-braid junkie.  Duel, YGK and Gosen -

- no lines are rounder, smoother, tougher, quieter, or better-mannered.   

Before that, most of my reels were spooled with Sufix 832, which is round, smooth, quiet, and good manners.  

The Sufix is always a bit larger diameter than published, whiich makes it good for filling spools.  X-braids are always a bit smaller diameter than published.  Also, for the same diameter, X-braids are more than twice the pound-test of Sufix 832.  

e.g., in the same 0.185 mm diameter, Sufix 832 is 12-lb test, and X-braid is 27-lb.  

 

If you're loading shallow spools made for braid, I'd recommend X-braids.  

If you're new to braid and wanting a good brand to try, just like the title you gave this thread, I'd recommend Sufix 832.  

A couple of brands complained on this thread, I would consider them for backing, but not for casting.

Take your pick really. It’s all subjective to each . As @J Francho said quiet and braid doesn’t go together for most part . I use PP, 832 and Seagaur Smackdown. Think I have 1 reel left spoiled with PP, 2 with 832 and rest with Smackdown as have been transitioning to it and really like it.

Super8Slick is quieter than 832, sufix performance, smackdown, kaizen, YGK-dsoul, gamma, samurai, jbraid. With some not by much but it is noticeable if quiet is something a person is wanting.
