The headline says TN river but this was actually captured in the caney fork river (which it ironically says early in the article )

I suspect they used "Tennessee River" in the title to mean "a river in Tennessee."

 

Shorter title block, ya know.

I saw one that was caught in the TN river several years ago. My friend's dad caught it when we were kids. It was the weirdest fish I had ever seen at the time.

There’s a bunch of them nowadays, they have an open snagging season on almost every reservoir along the river. LOTS of people from other countries trade them illegally

Snagging season is a huge deal here. I just can't see the appeal. I've caught a couple on accident, they're cool fish, but going out and dragging a big treble hook trying to intentionally snag a fish just doesn't do it for me.

I feel the same way about spawn fishing.
