Bad news. I got snagged yesterday with Mann’s Jelly Worm on a Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG hook. I could not free it, so I decided to pull the line until the line or knot (Improved Clinch) snapped.  Neither happened. I pulled and pulled until the hook started to straighten out. I lost the worm but saved the tungsten weight (the hook is trashed lol). I was shocked the line, and especially the knot, outlasted the hook lol.

Gives me confidence!

Nothing new for BG.

Well I can tell you from experience that 12lb Big Game probably breaks closer to 25lbs, that line is strong!

I’ve used a lot of XL but this is my first time using BG. For 10 lb line, it’s brutally strong. I could not believe how much force I was pulling and the line or knot was not breaking. Especially as it’s so inexpensive. I’m impressed!

A few weeks ago I was fishing a Magdraft Freestyle in trout rigged on a 6/0 Beast hook. I was throwing out to a drop off where I know there's a laydown, so I was playing the odds, even with 20lb Big Game.

Eventually I ended up snagging hard and resigned to breaking off. I wear cut proof gloves made for handling expanded metal, so I wrapped the line around my hand and started pulling. Now I could feel that the hook was really buried. I had two sweatshirts on, so I wrapped it around my upper arm, and really pulled with all my weight. The tree felt like it was starting to move, then bang, I broke off. But I didn't! Got my bait back with a chunk of tree stuck to the hook. I'm still mind blown at how strong this line actually is.

Big Game is my preferred line on the business end of my C-Rigs, usually behind 40lb. braid. Not only is it strong, it can get beat up and still maintain plenty of strength.

I was fishing from bank , casting a spinnerbait at standing timber and hanged in a tree . This was with 15 lb Big Game . I tried to break it off and couldnt do it . Finally the tree broke and got caught up in another tree . So I once again tried to break it . The spinnerbait pulled free . After examining it I saw the hook had broken off . This was the first time I used it and have been using it ever since .

Big Game is easier to break after it has been used a while. That line is indestructible brand new off of the spool.

I don’t know what the bigger surprise was. The line strength, or my knot strength lol. I use the IC a lot. Simple to tie and I know it’s normally a decent knot. But I though the knot would break before the hook straightened out. And that’s a good hook.

I have big game 12lb for my spinners/cranks. Got snagged on a rock and ended up bending trebles before knot, line, or snap caved. Great stuff.  My 10 year old hauled up a fallen TREE, not a log, with the same line on a beetle spin.

It will slice the fingers off your hand before it breaks!

Wrap it around your pliers and pull to save your fingers.

Love Big Game. Sufix Siege as well. Tough line you can have confidence in.

I got a vision 110 snagged a couple weeks ago. I was using 10lb suffix seige. With a slow pull I was trying to straighten the hook. But actually pulled in a small Christmas tree. I was amazed at the strength of the line.

If a couple of guys from Sheepshead Bay blackfish boats show up at your door asking for the royalty vig, just hand it over.... :) That's how we've always done it. 60 BG is a b...

I just did a comparison between the line diameters of Pline CXX and BG. Hmmmm.

Big game less diameter than CXX.

Idk man, maybe I will have to give big game another go. Any thoughts on comparison between the line properties of CXX and BG?

CXX is a bit stiffer, has less stretch, and is not quite as rugged, but the differences aren't huge.

Big Game is definitely stronger than XL but also fatter diameter (so is XT). It's also cheap.

If you want to venture into more expensive line, Sufix Siege is worth a try. Siege is more expensive, but it handles better. This year I tried Sufix Advance and the jury is still out on that.

I can’t see CXX so I quit using it but I remember it feeling thin (didn’t read the diameter on the box)

I bought moss green, should have gotten clear I guess. I also remember cxx being extremely strong, I got hung up in swift current a few times and couldn’t break it, it was like an anchor line haha

It stretches quite a bit, but I use it for presentations that I want some stretch. It also seems to become more brittle after being on the spool for awhile, or frequent use, but it's cheap so I replace it often.

I keep me trusty old Mylec and Hanson mask parked in the vestibule. Love it when city slickers come a callin'.

Big Game is my go to especially for mono leaders in SW.  Make up all sorts of rigs with various lb of it.

i see Sufix Siege is mentioned a few times, its my go to line.

its as strong as big game but handles better. well enough to use on spinning gear, in 8 and 10 pound tests. I found Big Game to be too stiff for spinning reels.

Got snagged multiple times yesterday while fishing a Ned rig with straight 10lb Suffix 832 braid... that stuff is strong enough to “anchor” my boat!

Big Game is great line. I fish the lower side of it. 8#,10#,12# but as mentioned not for spinning set up. I went down to 8# on one of my BC setups. Too early to give an honest opinion on what I’ve done. Have it on a 1/4 oz. / 5/16 oz. crankbait setup.
