Like any other business decision: greater return on investment.

Right. I get why he does that. What doesn't make sense is there's time to devote to that but absolutely no time to type a few answers once in awhile. And as I said, he owes no explanation of how he uses his time.

I personally get all that. He's busy. He also doesn't owe us anything. I enjoy his YouTube content. But that's where the disconnect comes in for me. You're all giving him the excuse of being too busy, but as I said, it takes significantly more time to create, edit, and upload videos to YouTube, which he's been doing regularly. Why he has time to give advice the long way and not the short way (here) doesn't make any sense to me. Nobody can make that make sense to me. But here's the other thing: he doesn't owe any of us an explanation. I'm personally not upset by it at all. I personally understand the busy factor. I just can't make it make sense to me that there's time for YouTube though.

One pays him money the other does not.

I am not so well off that I can prioritize free over something that earns money.

If you can't make sense of that, I got nothing

I don't know why it is assumed that he would be editing and uploading all of his videos himself.  Even some of the smaller operations I've worked with just take your raw footy and edit for whatever social platform it will appear.  In other words, using YouTube to bolster the argument that he does have time is weak.

Sponsors also require reports on what the sponsored fisherman is doing to promote product: YouTube is a great opportunity to focus on using sponsor products with easily tracked quantification of how many views that product promotion/placement received.

Point has been made.

Most on here have never done what he or other touring pro’s do and probably never will.

Nobody on here has the right to judge anyone else’s career choice or how they spend their time.

Done

So why bother trying to understand what he does with his time? It's like giving someone unsolicited advice about how they should spend their money (that drives me bonkers).

First off what Jim does with his time is none of anyone’s business besides his or his family. If prioritizing his time and it doesn’t include answering forum post oh well get over it.

As stated before until your tasked with fishing for a living and being successful to take care of your family you have no idea the time it takes.

Thanks Jim for 5he time that you were able to give us and great luck and health in the future.

While I don't agree with the "dissing" going on, I think the folks that have an issue may just feel like he was getting special treatment here because he was a pro, even though he wasn't contributing all that much.  There are a lot of members on here that contribute A TON and have been for years, yet they don't have a thread dedicated to them (not saying any of them even care about having their own thread, it's just an example).  I couldn't care less honestly, just thinking that may be why there's some shade being tossed around.  Definitely not trying to justify it as I think James is a true gentleman of the sport.  Just trying not to cast judgement prematurely.

Well, my thought is if Glen gives him this avenue, he should be thankful and participate more.

OOf... feel like it should be the other way around.  BR is lucky to have James' expertise and we should be thankful for ANYTHING he provides...

Well said. My thoughts about member contribution parallels yours.

in all seriousness, I appreciate everything James did for us on here. If I had to travel like they do, I wouldn’t ever be on forums. I’d be lucky to find my toothbrush and deodorant

Well he doesn't have his own forum anymore, so those that were so bent out of shape about it can sleep well tonight.
