So I've been on lock down since the end of the week last week for Covid. During that time we had lots of 60s and 70s ...mostly sunny warm days. Today is my last day of quarantine and of course I'm wanting to get out tomorrow...the weather today is like 49 and rainy. Tomorrow looks only slightly better. This spring has sucked. Rant over.

Could you not practice lockdown by fishing by yourself?

I was afraid of getting checked by the dnr for a license. I dont think its very responsible to be in any public place when you have covid.

Hope so. I've had several people thanking me for this...I just did what I hope everyone would do.

Weather sucked today. But nothing sucks if you make the most of it. Perfect weather to do some drumsticks ? ?

I’m just north of you panda. Hope you are doing well.

We did have an early spring and a fairly mild winter overall which resulted in an early ice out, but it seems like we’ll get a warm day or two and then several days of cool and/or wet weather. The same system bringing rain to you is also providing very much needed moisture in the Dakotas, which are already in stage 3 drought.

The latter half of next week looks better. I can assure you that summer WILL come and it will include many days of hot, humid weather. ?

Thanks, I spent about 20 years on this recipe. The only thing I do more than fishing, is cooking.

Same situation recently, cold front after cold front and the fishing has been taking a hit. We had a bunch of upper 60 and mid 70 degree days until last week and now the highs on most days is 55 to 63 with night time temps plunging down into the 40s. We aren't expected to get a 70 degree day until next saturday. Situation sucks.

Today, in the store, I was torn between wings and legs. I think wings come out better than legs because they take just the right amount of time to soak up the right amount of smoke. But my kids like the legs better, so we went with legs.

Last Monday was the only time I’ve been fishing that has been sunny and warm. Every other time has been cold, rainy, or both.

I’m in the opposite now. I was catching fish in rainy overcast. Now it’s 80-90 and 20-30 mph winds with 40 mph gusts everyday and you can’t buy a bite.

I actually miss the cool/cold and overcast for the first time ever. This was one of my most successful winter to spring transitions.

The constant Mostly Northly flavored cold winds are making for tough sledding up this way.

Over night temps have been relentlessly low which seems to have really stunted any

early morning bite deals.

However, if the forecast for this coming week

is even remotely close to what actually happens on the water,

somewhere around mid-week, might begin to resemble a

"May Flowers" type environment, rather than the Old Man Winter mess

that's been beating in me up.

May be an image of sky and text that says 'Today National WeatherService Gaylord, Monday Sunday Night Highs: 48-54° Tuesday Monday Night Highs: 48-55° Frost/Freeze Lows: 29-36° Tuesday Night Highs:47-54° 47-54° Frost/Freeze Lows: 27-36° Frost/Freeze Lows: 29-37° A Look Ahead Start ÛOR Here'

I feel your pain, fellow Iowan.  We got hit with some marble sized hail last night in Lake View.

Was cold, rainy and windy yesterday. Sunny, 52 with 6mph winds today. Mother’s Day.

It was 37 degrees when I left for fishing this morning. Trout are still biting. No sign of Bass though.

Well it turned out to be nicer today than I thought...went out for 3 hours with my buddy. He caught 8-10 bluegills and a nice crappie...I caught 4 bass in the 2.5-3lb range a 4lb northern and a 13 inch crappie on a spinnerbait.
