livemusic Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Just thought I would post about this tackle box, one of the Plano Guide Series boxes, because I have used it for several years and it's still working flawlessly, all the latches and whatnot. I use it to have a pretty universal assortment of the baits and rigs I use. The top bulk compartment is very useful as a catchall storage spot for lots of things. The flip-up tray on top is useful for hooks and weights, tools, whatever you need regularly. Reason I wanted a tackle box in the first place is in case I do not fish in my boat and use my Pelican pondjumper boat or jon boat or someone else's boat, or bank fish, I can grab this tackle box and go and this serves as all I need or a good start. I can add other pouches, cases if needed. Have you found a good tackle box? Here's the one above... Plano guide series tackle box 2 Quote

But I have the soft side. No one else has that design. Mike Quote
Super User Scott F Posted May 4, 2021 Super User Posted May 4, 2021 I haven’t used a tackle box like that in many years. I prefer soft sided tackle bags. Lighter weight, with shoulder straps and side pockets for my tools and accessories. I used to live near the Plano factory and outlet store. Got all of my tackle storage containers at substantial discounts. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted May 4, 2021 Super User Posted May 4, 2021 I like it. I'm starting to collect additional boxes that won't fit in my bag. Quote

TheBasslayer Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I use a plano tackle bag and I really like it! It is about 1-2 years old, so I can't find it on the Plano site or in my pictures, but I'll get a picture later. I really like it! It's a blue-black camo tackle bag, and it can fit 5 big tackle boxes, a smaller one for spinners and UL stuff, a fly box, and everything else I need! Quote

The 3700 size can hold five standard depth boxes, I've got one standard depth and six 3701's in it. Front pocket can hold a single 3600, or three (yes 3) 3601's. Still leaves the two over-sized side pockets for miscellaneous gear. 1 Quote
Nelson Delaney Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 The monkey & I outgrew a box that size years ago.... Quote

Johnbt Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I've been using an XL Drake blind bag I got in '93 iirc and then my stepson and family gave me a very large Cabela's fishing bag that holds six boxes. I try not to take too much stuff. The Drake bags will hold some weight; they're made for boxes of shotgun shells. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted May 4, 2021 Super User Posted May 4, 2021 I have been using a six tray Plano 9606 tackle box for at least 20 years. I wish I could find another one. It has been in the boat during some bad rain storms and nothing got wet as long as it is closed. This is one reason I won't switch to a tackle bag. 1 Quote
@reelChris Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 I use this Kastking tackle bag as a tournament co-angler. It's not big enough to be obnoxious, but will hold 8 x 3700 boxes and 4 x 3600 plus tools and other stuff. If you skip the 3600's in the side compartments, you can fit tons of soft bait bags in there. 1 Quote
