Cam Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I have recently swapped to an FC leader but I’m having a lot of trouble with the braid cutting the FC at the knot. I was wondering if anyone had some tips for me Quote
Super User ATA Posted May 4, 2021 Super User Posted May 4, 2021 Do FG knot and use that braid cutting to FC as advantage. Quote
walleyecrazy Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 What knot are you using to make your connection? I always use the Alberto knot and haven’t had any issues with it. 1 Quote

Love about 10-12' leader to help with clear water, shock absorption, and less reties. The FG knot reels right up and casts well too. I tie it with this method but others have posted some nice ways to do it as well. Search the site for FG knot and it should come up. scott 1 Quote
CrankFate Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I do a uni uni knot on thin lines. Overhand FC knot to braid uni knot on thick lines. I never had a fish break me off and it’s hard enough to break the line when I get hung up. There’s no way I’m tying these fancier more complicated knots in 6lb braid and 8 to 12lb FC in more than 5mph winds with my contacts on, unless I’m bringing my reading glasses fishing with me. Quote

And tightening the fg knot down cuts through. 1 Quote
