He got the coach fired because he wanted to be the coach.  Now he's saying that he will quit unless the owner fires the GM because he wants to be that too.  What an epic idiot.  Go Bears!

He ain’t going anywhere until at least June 1 otherwise Green Bay is stuck with about 15 mil of his contract against the salary cap.

There’s now a rumor that he’s considering retirement if they don’t trade him. If he retires, he would owe Green Bay 11 million each season for the next 2 years of his existing contract.

Thought I heard he would owe 27 million if he left.

This is what I found. $11.5 mil each season for 2 seasons, so 23 mil total.

“If Aaron Rodgers retires (to host Jeopardy or just retire), he would have to repay the team $11.5M this year and $11.5M if he remains retired next year — all from his signing bonus,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted Friday.

He knows all that and apparently he doesn’t care or he wouldn’t have said anything in the first place.

He has no leverage to force the teams hand to do anything.
They drafted his replacement and obviously feel the receivers they have are good enough.
He’s under contract so they don’t need his permission.
The 23 mil may not mean anything to him.

He can take his fragile ego and just go away.

He’s out-Favreing Brett Favre at this point... bless his heart he is fun to watch.

as a lifelong packer fan i dont care if he leaves. He is 1 win and 4 losses in championship games. He isnt like brady where brady takes less money to allow the team to acquire better players in free agency.

Rodgers wants it all and then some and then packers are strapped for money and cant acquire better players. Without rodgers the pack will suck and thats fine with me.

Well I don’t follow the NFL anymore, but I called this several years ago. The man is impossible to deal with. He goes through woman like toilet paper, has been in a public tiff with his own family, and threw McCarty and the offensive coordinator under the bus. He is the primadonna’s primadonna. You could see it years ago.

By the way the 1 Super Bowl “he won” was won by one of the best defensive units the Packers ever had. Ask the Bears.

That is interesting to hear from a Packer fan. He has led Green Bay to how many winning seasons, a handful of division crowns, 3 MVPs, 5 NFC Championships, and a Super Bowl. I can assure you that every team in the league except for perhaps the Patriots would love to have that kind of consistency over a long period of time. Heck, the two years he got hurt in recent memory, they sucked and missed the playoffs. Take what you can get and be grateful for it. I remember when Packer nation came out with pitchforks when they unloaded Favre for Rodgers. That didn’t last long. History may be repeating itself. Things can get a lot worse real quick.

the NFL is trying to turn into the NBA where the players whom have like rodgers has 2 years left on their contracts.

They start by compaining about wanting to be traded and whining to the press about holding out so they can move onto other teams to create super teams like James Harden did with the houston rockets to then be able to join the new jersey nets with kyle irving and kevin durant.

Been a packer fan since 1966, Rodgers hasnt won a super bowl in 10 years, sure its not all his fault but winning division titles is not what fans want to see year after year and then get smacked in the championship games.

Rodgers screwed up in the 4th quarter last year against tampa bay, he had tunnel vision for 3 downs and that he can only blame on himself but he wont.

I would rather watch a rebuilding team with a new young quarterback working to get better than watchng diva rodgers win another division title and flop again in the championship game.

I’ve only ever seen Green Bay be a mostly good team in my life. I think you could argue that they’ve been the second most consistent team in the past 20+ years behind the Patriots. Guess we’ll see what transpires here.

I will agree that he does seem to deflect blame and won’t accept that it was his fault at times though.

He says he needs more role players but sequesters 70% of the salary. He only needs to look at the QB that beat him in the NFC championship to witness the winning formula: take a little paycut if you want to win a championship in a team game and surround yourself with better talent

Yes sure blame Rodgers for playing his arse off while the defense gets torched by Brady and Tampa’s defense is awesome. How many dropped passes when the ball hits the receiver in the hands? Every year? What about defense/special team meltdown in Seattle? Defensive performance against the 49ers a couple years ago was precious.

Is Rodgers a diva probably. Just like Farve they just didn’t always surround them with quality talent. I am disappointed they only won two Super Bowls with two of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.

But I’d rather win a lot of games and have a chance to get to the super bowl than being da bears fan and having drafted trubisky. Bahaha ?

That was kind of my point earlier in this thread.  Complaining about years of consistent success, even if it only resulted in 2 super bowls, isn't very practical.  Its like complaining about a 6 pound bass because it wasn't 7 pounds.  There's about 27 other fan bases in the league that would gladly take that kind of long term consistency.

Wait a minute !

Doesn't Skip Bayless claim Rodgers the greatest QB of all time ?

Rodgers is significantly better than the average QB but kinda reminds me of Drew Brees " really like Brees " who both crumble in big moments.......Biggest difference is Brees was humble.

More Championships have been won with just an average QB than one of the so called Great Ones.

It’s never about one guy, even a QB, regardless of what a talking head has to say.

in that seattle loss you can blame julius peppers for his stupid waving of his arms to signal the packer whom just intercepted a pass to go down when he had 30 yards of open field in front of him.

Winning division crowns and then get punked in the championship game is why we always end up drafting near the bottom of the draft and missing out on that special player that can turn around a team.

Bears now drafted Fields from ohio state so maybe they get better along with the lions whom had a good draft and new front office and coaching staff with goff at quarterback.

Then theres the vikings, what can you say about kirk cousins? if it wasnt for cook the running back they would be a bad team.

The reason the pack wins the division is the lions, bears, vikings are not good teams and dont give the pack any competition.

I am a packer fan but not a homer, i watch games with my green and gold glasses off and dont drink the green koolaide. Division titles are participation trophies. When rodgers won his super bowl they were a 3 seed wildcard team, no division title needed.
