Does anyone have any experience with this rod? This would be my first heavy rod, and there's nowhere near me that would have one to check out. Bought the 6'11" medium+ and it's my favorite rod to date. With the heavy, I'm looking at throwing some heavier lures, getting into some larger swimbaits, and possibly throwing a frog around occasionally. The lure weight rating is really tempting. Any info would be appreciated, I can't seem to find much online about this specific model.

No experience with that model, but I can't for the life of me see why you wouldn't love it.

I have that rod and love it. I am mainly throwing 6 inch Magdrafts, Gantarel Jr’s and other 1-1.5 swimbaits. It is perfect for that technique. It only weighs 4.5 ounces and balances well with a Bantam. I haven’t thrown a frog yet, but it seems to handle anything 1/2 and up. I plan to use it for some ledge fishing in the summer. Preacher jigs, heavier scrounger, etc. 1/14 ounce spoons. It is becoming one of my favorite rods and I’m looking for excuses to use it. Very versatile.

I am also looking at this rod as I don’t own an adrena yet. I went in full intentions on purchasing it but after handling it I had to pass for the time being to do more though. It feels amazing but I was looking for more of a t-rig rod, maybe Alabama rig rod. This rod has more parabolic bend, so definitely more of a swim bait rod, maybe large top water rod (big buzz baits or whopper ploppers). Excellent feeling rod, just don’t know if it’s what I’m after yet

Let's be honest, it's an adrena, you'll love it.

Do you have a picture of the 7'4" heavy? I can't find any pics of it on the web and not much information out there in the forums... Does it have a nice long handle that makes it comfortable for throwing those smaller swimbaits? I'm looking for a rod that is ideally suited for throwing smaller swimbaits- both weedlessly rigged 5" spark shad, 6" magdraft, and things like the ganatrel jr, islide 135, vatalion, deps 145, gan craft 178.  All the baits I intend to throw are sub 2 oz. so I like the fact that this rod seems like it has a sweet spot for that range of baits.

Thanks for sharing the pic.  Handle looks decently long and definitely comfortable for that tuck under the arm style of swimbaiting.  I think I may have to pick this rod up- there are really not many rods out there that are this light weight, have a sweet spot for "smaller" swimbaits like 1-1.5 oz, have up to date technology, and have that mod-fast action.  I'm sold...

Now the real question is what reel do I pair with it.  Probably going to be running straight 17 lb. abrazx fluoro and will want a 200 sized reel.  Debating between the Zillion HD or Calcutta Conquest 201 HG to match with it...

Could go with a Bantam. It balances well and feels right on this rod. It should easily handle the 1-1.5 ounce weights.
