New to me. Rig the worm on a drop shot rig. I use a #4  Gamakatsu Octopus Circle

hook and a 1/4 oz bell sinker and #6 Tatsu spooled on spinning tackle.

Who did you beat to death to get some??  Can't get any here in Ohio, all the Erie boys suck them up as soon as they hit the shelves!

A Berkley flat worm on a drop shot rig?  That's a new one, I'll have to give it a shot!

Pretty much the only thing I’ve used on a drop shot for the last two or three years. I’ve lost count of the number of smallmouth I’ve caught on them, and they work great around docks for largemouth as well.

I found some at an e-bay store for $20 shipped, the "cheapest" I have seen.

Have a few left and some on "confirmed back order", whatever that means.

Just going to fish something else for now.

yeah im saving mine for when the bite gets tough. i can get them to eat other stuff on the drop shot for now. when things get shakey aroind june hopefully i can get more.

Sounds like the price has to do with a combination of the Covid lock downs and Berkeley purposely keeping supply low so demand blows up.

Then come the predatory re-salers that use bots to snap up all supply online as soon as they are stocked, and then mark up the price many multiples of the original, and you have a completely broken market.

I’m 100% skunked with the green pumpkin one.  I switch to a zoom z-drop and it’s fish on.

im an oddball. I’ll keep trying. :)

"Action" is not something to look for in  a drop shot bait. The biggest mistake guys make

fishing this technique is over working the bait, any bait. You move the bait by dragging the

weight 6"-12" and let it sit. There is no "hop".

Specifically, the Flat Worm looks like a dead or dying minnow.  Bass don't strike the bait, they

simply suck it in. If you feel a nibble (short, quick tugs) it's a bream not a bass. I use a Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hook mostly to reduce gut hooks.  With the circle hook you lift your rod and reel quickly, NEVER a Bill Dance hook set.

I see guys buying these things on line for $15 a bag plus shipping and I found 10 packs at my local Meijer store for $6/pack. I haven’t fished a drop shot yet so I don’t know what color is hot with the flat minnow but I could make a couple bucks off these puppies or make some trades for what I use. ?

I have Black Shiner on back order, but status is unknown. If you have any I probably have something

for trade that you would be interested in.  Let me know.

BTW, I came across a pack of Smoke Black Purple which have worked just fine.

If I could find some I would buy them. I love the drop shot and been using all Zman stuff and have to scent it myself. Would rather use maxscent and just fish.

I thought that was the whole appeal of the super soft plastic and the skinny tails with the bulbous end on it we see so commonly in dedicated drop shot baits.  The subtle movement of dragging the weight is translated into action by the soft plastic material and bait design.  I can PM you the store location if you wan to see if they can sen you some baits.  They have some stock but not a lot of selection.

you are kind of right. what those baits are offering is a vey subtle action of the tail imparted by slight movement of the rod tip or just slight current in the water .that way you get subtle life like action from the bait without having to move the sinker.  ive tested the flat worm in my inground pool and it doesnt have as good an "action" as some other baits or as good a floatation. you have to put slight tension on the line or it wants to sink more. however the fish seem to gobble them up like candy so i guess that really doesnt matter. must have to do with the special sauce berkley puts in them.

They’re the minnows and there are only two colors. If you’re fine with that I can grab them tomorrow. If you’re looking for a certain color I can check them out in the morning and get back with you. I know for sure one of them is a grey with silver.

I picked up a pack earlier this year in green pumpkin for drop shot.  I had no idea it was a sought after thing.  I didn't think it was anything special.  I actually like the KVD Dream Shot better (which is a first).

Also, saw guy take a GYCB fat neko worm, trim about an inch off and instant drop shot bait with an EWG Spin Shot.  Worked great for him but I have not tried it yet.  It looks similar to this bait as well.

You all arent doing anything to help the hype either. I looked online to see if anyone local had them and if anyone online has them in stock. I keep a drop shot tied on always so I really want to try these!!!

My local shop had a 20 percent off all warm water lures and guess what was all by itself on the bottom corner? Six pack of green pumpkin Max Scent flat worms.  Evidence demands a verdict.

This bait reminds me of Yum Warning Shot. Am I way off?

The profile is similar, but the action is much more subtle.
