Fred Allen Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Went out early today because rain in the afternoon. Had a HUGE one get off early then nothing for a long time. It started pouring!! I was way on the other side of the lake from the ramp so I just kept casting. THIS fish is my PB large mouth bass and my FIRST fish caught on a jerk bait AND my first fish caught on a bait caster (Apu Garcia Black Max). I must say the big LM bass are very well behaved in the kayak. He just stayed calm not like the SM who want to kill me every second. HE WAS 4.13 pounds on my scale!! So happy got drenched to the bone and cold but all worth it. 20 Quote
NavyVet1204 Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Catches like that are always worth the elements endured. Quote
gunsinger Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Congrats on your PB. Fishing in the rain can yield unexpectedly good results. I ain't afraid to do it so long as there's no lightning. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted April 29, 2021 Super User Posted April 29, 2021 Grats on your fish. Even if your PB was 12 pounds, it's always nice catching a nice fish like that. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted April 29, 2021 Global Moderator Posted April 29, 2021 Awesome, congrats! Fair warning: not all largemouth are calm near kayaks. I’ve nearly been capsized Quote
Super User Darren. Posted April 29, 2021 Super User Posted April 29, 2021 Hearty congrats, man! Nice catch! Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted April 29, 2021 Super User Posted April 29, 2021 Congrats on the new PB. Quote
Fred Allen Posted April 30, 2021 Author Posted April 30, 2021 Thanks all. What shocked me so much was how BIG a 4 pound really is. On TV you just cant get a real idea or from a photo. When I got him out of the water I said this thing must be 5-6 pound. Quote
Super User Bird Posted April 30, 2021 Super User Posted April 30, 2021 Nice catch ? That fish does look bigger than 4.13 lbs. If I'd caught it we'd be calling it 5.13 Quote
