JamesWatkins Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 Last year in Mn me and my dad were in the canoe bass fishing for these huge bass we were seeing in this clear water and I hooked a few that fought so hard and broke me off, (I was using a fly rod) and I finally got one to the boat and it scaled at 6.1 lbs. In all the exitement we forgot to get a girth and length do you guys have an estimate for those numbers it was a fairly fat fish. Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted April 26, 2021 Super User Posted April 26, 2021 Going the other way, it's (LxGxG)/800=pounds Solving for pounds to L & G is a bit more difficult but we'll make an assumption based on average length to weight of 21-5/8 to 21-3/4 for a 6.1# bass so we'll split the difference and call it 21.7 6.1*800/21.7 = 224.88 - square root of that is 14.99 So best guess-timate is 21.7" long, 15" girth. 1 Quote

Not only can you do math, you can do it backwards!! You win the day IMO for displaying excellence in extrapolation 2 2 Quote
