I just got rid of my 94 Tracker Pro Deep V 17 after doing a complete overhaul last winter.  I am picking up my Alumacraft Tournament Pro 170CS tomorrow in Conn.  What did you end up purchasing and what were your deciding factors???  Thanks....Dave

I have got one and have had it for a few months. I love it.

Keep in mind I went from a highly moded 1436 Jon.

I got it cause I needed a light weight boat, that was durable in case I hit something. I also could not get anything much larger than the 175 txw because of room in my driveway. I was done with doing mods so I wanted a full package. For the price, the package was great.

I got the 60 hp motor got it up to about 44 when I trim it out right. It is a good boat. For me it goes plenty fast, gets me on the fish, is comfortable to fish, and reasonable to maintain.

Well said, and I appreciate your feedback.  I am leaving on Thursday to head over to Pa with my new purchase.  I will let you know my thoughts after I put a few hours on it, and I will probably have a couple of questions.  Thanks again!

I have a 2005 Tracker tx 175 and love it. when I got it I went halves with my father in law and wasn't sure about It. did not think highly of trackers, but after just one trip in this boat I love it. Mine only has a 25hp on it(because of HP restictions) and it runs great. I would like to get a bigger motor for it, say a 75hp, but for right now its our restricted lake boat. like I said I give it 2 thumbs up. the only problems I have is the cheep fishfinder, got rid of that and put a HD7 on it, the other thing is the TM, 45# 12v is ok, but in heavy weeds it just can't handle. I will be moving up to a 80# 24v soon. If I can find out how to fit 3 batteries in it I'll put my 109# 36v on it. I have 2 friends that have them with 71# 24v and that is a great TM size for that boat

I had my Tracker Deep V for 3 yrs, after buying it off C'sList for $1,200 from a guy here on LI that only used it for salt water. Everything was preatty much original, inc. the 60hp Tracker, and it showed.  After falling completely backwards off the stern post (came up with the decking and all), it was time.  Myself and two other buddies over the course of about 10 weekends completely gutted it and restored it back to prestine condition.  The only problem that we continued to have were leaky rivets, which really sucked.  Sold it a couple of months ago for $4,700 (broke even but got three free yrs).....great boat and a lot of good times with the boys.  Hoping that will continue with the Alumacraft.

I sold my old '89 Pro 17 and replaced it with an '04 TV-18.  I loved the old boat, but it's rivets leaked and it would not handle the rough water of a large lake.  Compared to the old Pro 17, the deck of my TV-18 looks like an aircraft carrier

Mine is an 09. The good thing about the 175txw hull, it is an all welded hull. Good point on the FF though. It is my only real "disappointment" with the boat. I have a deal with my wife, I am waiting to pay it off, when I do, the next thing is one of those SI units.

I was thinking about keeping the old cheap unit for rough guidance when I got the motor on, then putting the SI on the TM so when I get into a hole, I can get the best possible look at whats down there.

My lake does not have a ton of weeds or anything like that so there is nothing to interfere with the TM and I am pretty happy with it. I can see where folks would go with a bigger TM.

If you figure out how to get another battery in there let me know.

The thing i go like, it has a 21 gal internal tank. I got the 60 HP, I can fish it all day run end to end of Lake Wylie and use up only half a tank. Considering I came from a 1436 jon, my Tracker seems huge to me. LOL. Then of course, you go look at the kitty kitty kitty thread...
