Heading there tomorrow for a few days to fish fish.  Going to be staying on the lake in Goodview.  Any help would be appreciated.  Looking for large/small mouth mainly.  Thanks.

There's a big bass tournament and a BFL this weekend, so you'll have plenty of company.  At least it means the lake will be very quiet for the late afternoon and evening.  My spies tell me that docks can be good if it's sunny and clear water, cranks and jigs in lower visibility. Good luck and enjoy your weekend.

Please read the post "Kerr Lake Bridge Clearance" in the Southeast Fishing section of this Forum and give the guys a call in addition to viewing the lake level.

Buggs is very big so what you find going up lake is not going to be the same as down lake.

If the water level is around 303 try you luck in Eastland Creek, if you can get in due to all of the tournaments this weekend.

Good luck and be safe.

I’m staying in Goodview for reference. Fished for a few hours in the rain. No luck. Not even a bite.

Hey, I was down there a few years ago and got hopelessly lost due to MA GOOGLE MAPS. I finally found the park but in all my driving around no hotels anywhere. Just dozens of private golf courses and private landing strips. I'm about 2 hours from there and would like to check it out if I can get a hotel. Any suggestions on places to look at? As I said many many very well off "private communities" but not much else.

Any town , keyword, area would help, I'll use the one above. My legs won't allow a single day trip anymore.

Thank you

We rented a house on vrbo with a boat slip. Very reasonable and a beautiful house. Fishing has been tough tho. Guy on the trip did manage a 5lb 7oz tho. Today is our last day fishing so hopefully it’s more #s today.

I'm looking for a place to rent a cabin next April when the kids are on spring break in that area, and Smith Mountain lake and a few in North Carolina are in the mix - basically down south where it's warmer so we can go kayaking when it's often pretty cold up here.
