Super User Jigfishn10 Posted April 23, 2021 Super User Posted April 23, 2021 Just wondering what you guys are using for a marine wax and cleaner between wax ops? My boat has been cleaned and waxed prior to pick-up from the dealer and it will be sitting in the bay on a mooring soon. I'll be able to get out at low tide to clean it up prior to taking a trip out. Any suggestions will be most appreciated. Quote
Super User GaryH Posted April 23, 2021 Super User Posted April 23, 2021 I always use Meguiars marine wax and in between Maguiars detail. 1 Quote
Deephaven Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Collinite wax although I may ceramic coat the boat here come May. Gets a bass boat saver wipe down the instant she is out of the water. 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 23, 2021 Super User Posted April 23, 2021 Bow to Stern applied correctly negates the need for wax. 1 Quote

This unique formula dries just as quickly as it’s applied, so application is quick and easy with no risk of streaks or hazing. Klasse All In One Polish cleans as you apply it, removing light oxidation, minor swirl marks, old waxes, and other minor surface defects. Since it is non-abrasive and does not contain any silicones, it will not stain plastic, vinyl, or rubber trim pieces. Klasse All In One Polish is so versatile, it can be used on virtually any nonporous surface including fiberglass, gel coat, metal, glass, plastic, marble, vinyl, painted surfaces, and more—it’s also excellent for marine and aviation use. http://klasseusa.com/kalsse-all-in-one.html A-Jay 1 Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted April 25, 2021 BassResource.com Administrator Posted April 25, 2021 Bow to stern is a polymer sealant with UV protectant. It seals the pores in the gel coat. It cuts right through dirt, road grime, water lines or whatever gets in its path, with minimal effort I might add. Yes, it removes old wax, but it takes 3 coats to do it. That old wax is the reason your boat looks dull, because it filled in all the pores. After the first coat of BTS, you'll notice swirls and streaks - that's good. That's the old wax that liquified and was "pulled" out of the pores, and then dried. Wait at least 30 days, then apply the next coat. You'll notice far less swirls and streaks. By the third coat, your boat will look like new. Then apply every 3-6 months on a clean boat thereafter. BTS works on nearly everything on your boat - vinyl, plastic, tires, painted metal, etc. It also prevents mold and mildew in rod lockers and storage compartments. I literally had somebody ask me at the ramp just last weekend if my boat was new. It's a 2003. 2 Quote
