You're right. I fish out of a Field and Stream Eagle Talon sit on top that I bought maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I'm at the point where if I spend a day on that thing I get out of it feeling like an 85 year old man. It's literally a crippling design, even with an upgraded seat. But besides that, when there is a slight breeze yes I am just mostly anchoring or correcting my position. I think I'm about settled on the Old Town Predator pdl....If I can find one.

I tried that once while crossing a reservoir and caught one pretty quickly, but I missed all the chuck and wind. ?

I actually find it difficult to go slow enough, pedal or paddle, for things like divers.  It's absolutely deadly and easier for burning big baits for pike and musky though.  I've done a little bit of it for lakers too, and it's really cool to troll, with the rod in your hands so you can feel the strike.

The current and wind makes it impossible for bass to read, it blurs the text

I just got a Pelican Bass Raider, citing stability when taking grandkids fishing as a justification.  I'm trying to figure out how to spin a fishing kayak purchase, especially since I own two canoes and a couple traditional kayaks.

I just pulled the trigger on a Predator PDL too from ecofishingshop.com which I'm really hoping was a good move. Local shops claim they couldn't get that kayak until possibly the Fall, and this site says mine would be shipped to me in May because they put an order in a while back with Old Town to stay ahead of the curve. Fair enough, but I still don't like dropping this kind of money online and hoping nothing happens in transit. We shall see!

Here's my DIY kayak build. I've tried to break it and so far it's strong.

I ended up buying an ABN Universal Kayak carrier. I just moved in to a new house and there's too much going on between that and work at my hotel to set up my workshop. Heck, I've had my kayak for 5 days and I still haven't put it in the water yet.

 

Hopefully I can find some time tomorrow afternoon.

OK, it's getting a bit pathetic. As of Monday I'll have had the kayak for a week and I still haven't put it in the water yet.

 

Between moving into a new house and having a busy hotel all week I haven't had the time or the energy. I was finally supposed to have a day off today but work got in the way.

 

Now we're supposed to have thunderstorms for the next three days and when it clears up on Thursday I've got meetings all day. So maybe, just maybe, I'll get to get on the water by Friday.

 

Talk about frustrating...
