Sorry, I don't fish for whales

A bass will hit that, no doubt. It's only a few inches longer than a Mother Chaser. The weight and casting it would be the biggest issue. A Chaser is 1.5lbs, that Manifold is 3.5. That's  getting into just being a trolling bait territory, although they make rods that could toss it, it's a matter of how long could a guy's shoulder and wrist stand up to fishing it.

That Manifold is 2lb 11oz by my math, but I'm not a math teacher. LOL :)

Good call, I'm not either and this working 10pm-10am stuff makes math hard.

Just out of curiosity, I was looking for a rod for this just under 3 lb bait.  The heaviest swimbait rod I could find was the Roman Made Mother Chaser rod, which I think is rated for 1.5 lbs.  Surprisingly, even surf rods are not rated for anything close.  Those things are big and heavy, of course you're not doing a lot of retrieving, you just cast it out and leave it in the rod holder.  I want to see how they build rods for baits this big, and how they imagine people to actually fish them for any length of time.  I was imagining a contraption rigged up to an anchor mate or something, but this is piquing my curosity.

NO WAY! You'll be hiring a diver to go get that  when you lose it.

Hey, you want to catch a really big bass for just $19.99? ~ buy yourself a  "Flippity Fish". Yes, I'm talking the flopping cat, fish toy you see advertised on TV. This thing would be a killer on big bass. All you got to do is rig a couple of hooks through it, ad a bladder so it floats then cast it out there and let it flop around ~ "WHAM"

You could maybe do it with a mortar tube and a sabot.

We've all drooled over a piece of gear that a buddy owns or we've seen on posts like the "Show Off Your Gear" thread or seen a piece of expensive equipment that we covet.  I, myself, would love to have a Diawa Morethan BC just because I want one.  Not because I need one.  But this?  This is absurd.  I'm not one to tell another person what to do with his money but I guarantee that if a buddy showed me this after buying it and told me the price, the first thing I would ask is "Are you an idiot?"  I cannot begin to understand what the justification for buying this would be.  At least lures like the Roman Made's look good.  This looks like something I would spend waaay too much time on during a weekend and then throw in the trash when I actually stepped back and looked at it.

Exactly.   I've seen better stitching on coin purses at a cub scout meeting.

You would also need to buy the Plano Lure Safe and install it own your boat.  You don't want to store something that expensive in a regular tackle box.

It looks like it has an ice skate "blade" on the front of it.  Is that the ultra reinforced line tie?

Also, how big are the hooks on this thing?

I bet it doesn't come with hooks.  I could be wrong but I'm not kidding.

Ok...I actually looked it up and I AM wrong...."Packaged with four premium Japanese Ryugi treble hooks that provide lightning fast hook sets and the power needed to land trophy-caliber bass".

Of course TW does offer the opportunity to "Upgrade your hooks"  lol

People will most likely buy it just to say they own it.
