slater Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I had a 13 Fishing Envy previous model with the recoil guides extra fast m/h 7'3" 12-20lb. 3/8-1 oz Have the opportunity to get an oops / exchange.... I cant get my hands on them locally which sucks.... I love long rods as I shore pound & get majority of my fish out deep long ways away from shore & length helps with distance & just overall like long rods. my options are: 7'4" 12-20lb m/h fast 3/8-1 oz 7'6" 12-25lb m/h extra fast 3/8- 1 1/4 oz I think I want the long rod but have no idea really on what to expect as far as action difference compare to what I had. Im a 1 tool for every job kinda guy, i bubba shot, texas rigged big worm, ika, etc..... Anyone actually have any of these rods, would love some insight. thanks EB2C73MH 7' 3" Medium Heavy Extra Fast Line Rating: 12-20 lb Lure Rating: 3/8 - 1 oz EB2C74MH 7 '4" Medium Heavy Fast Line Rating: 12-20 lb Lure Rating: 3/8 - 1 oz EB2C76MH 7' 6" Medium Heavy Extra Fast Line Rating: 12-25 lb Lure Rating: 3/8 - 1 1/4 oz 1 Quote

They 7'6 mh is like a heavy rod. It's a Carolina rig rod. It's not very senstive. The 7'4 mh is much more sensitive and would be a way better worm rod. The 7'6 is also weighs a lot more. Quote
Super User bulldog1935 Posted April 21, 2021 Super User Posted April 21, 2021 Their warranty is excellent. I have 2 Envy Green inshore, ML bait (7'1") and ML spinning (7'7"). And back to their warranty. The only rod I've ever broken in 50 years of fishing is the Envy Green bait, and it was my fault - a redfish grabbed the lure beside my kayak as I was taking it out of the water, and I high-sticked a set just as he exploded. I was expecting to get a discount replacement, but they said that counts as full-warranty fishing break. I had to cut the rod-label portion of the blank and mail it back to them, and had a new rod in hand 10 days later. 1 Quote

I dont do options very well & would love to get my hands on them, which isnt an option... The 7'3" extra fast I had, they wont get more till June. The 7'4" isnt extra fast, its just fast.... Have no idea what that really means inregards to how the blank acts in comparison to the extra fast I had..... Sounds like the 7'6" from what Bandersnatch is saying, probably thicker / larger diameter rod in the base handle section area compared to the 7'3"-7'4"...... 1 Quote

While I haven't had their 7'3 mh xf I can assure you the 7'4 is plenty fast for a jigs, worms and Texas rigs. It's a pretty universal rod. It's quite powerful for its rating. Quote

Never been in a situation to have to decide between fast vs extra-fast..... So really no pros / benefit to the extra fast option over just a fast?????? When it comes to a worming / bubba-shot, do it all rod? Quote

I'm down to one XF now, and it's rather bait specific for me. 1 Quote

When it comes to a worming / bubba-shot, do it all rod? XF is the opposite of a do it all rod, XFAST would be a rod that you wouldn't actually want to use for much other than something like a worm and jig while fast could do all. My guess is 13 fishings xf and fast are probably about the same ? Quote
slater Posted May 2, 2021 Author Posted May 2, 2021 Well choice was made. When I say do it all, its always related to plastics, bubba-shot, texas big worm, etc.. I went with the 7'4" 10-20 fast... Sounds like I wont be missing the xf... Quote

Looks like I'm a little late to the party but I have 2 of the Fate series rods and the one labeled XF loads better and deeper than the Fast. You might be right... Lol Quote
slater Posted May 2, 2021 Author Posted May 2, 2021 Weird that there isnt much 13fishing presence in-regards to rods in any of my local tackle shops in san diego compared to a few years back... Quote
