R520dvx Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 My 2004 Evinrude HO varies a lot depending on how hard I run it ..... about a gallon for every 50 - 75 gallons of gas. Quote
R520dvx Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 kb .... how is the fishin up there on Freeman and Shaffer ..... I haven't fished them in over 20 years ...... Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 24, 2009 Super User Posted September 24, 2009 Almost all two-stroke outboards use a ratio of 1:50. i.e. 1 oz oil to 50 oz gasoline. Since there are 128 ounces in a gallon, this equates to 2.56 ounces of oil per gallon of gas. Quote

Super User Jig Man Posted September 26, 2009 Super User Posted September 26, 2009 kb your motor's oil consumption will be regulated by the computer. It will go from around 100-1 to maybe even more than 50-1 depending on how you are using it. If you are using less then maybe you are not hitting the throttle as hard as you did in the past. The closer to wot the more you should use. Quote

Super User Way2slow Posted September 30, 2009 Super User Posted September 30, 2009 50:1 is only for your carburated and some EFI motors. DFI motor are controlled by the computer so their consumption can vary widely. Evinrudes actually use very little oil. I've never owned a Yamaha but I've heard they tend to use the most compared to the other DFI's but it's still less than the carb'd motors. At idle it can be as little as 150:1/200:1. As rpm increase the oil usage will also. Quote
