I’m finally over this blasted Covid.  Started not feeling well on the way to dropping the wife and kid off to her moms for Easter.  I planned and did fish all day.  Started feeling funny on the hour ride over.  Didn’t think much of it “I’ll feel better once I get in the water and start fishing”. Got sicker as the day went on finally time to go back and  texted the wife and said I’m not feeling good .   I kid you not by the time I got into the house ( away from everybody) and sat down I literally passed out for 2 hrs on the couch.  Finally woke up feeling a little better to drive an hour home with boat.

long story short came down with Covid not sure where I got it.  It but, me down hard for 2 weeks untill I could get the antibody treat ment. Luckily I never had it in my lungs. Lost dang near 30 lbs .  Wife got it ( not as bad ) we’re sure izzie had it.

Tommrow marks the last day of quarantine and I’m ready to hit the water again. I’m feeling preatty good.  Somethings don’t smell or taste right but, I’ll take it.  Worse thing is we had decent weather.  Best thing is all the local rivers open back up on Saturday due to the  end of the walleye spawn

needless to say I’m ready to go!!!! Ready to restart this spring.

That's why you don't do things like gather for Easter until we get the all clear from health experts and not governors. It's out there, it's dangerous, and you never know where you will pick it up or who you will give it to. I had it too. It's horrible. It's exactly like the cold if the cold is exactly opposite of the cold.

Mbirdsley - glad your feeling better.  Hopefully the fish will cooperate now that you're back in action.

ironbjorn - I'll respectfully disagree.  I had COVID, and if not for a positive test wouldn't have known it.  Your experience isn't everyone's.  CAN it be bad, absolutely, but of the 100 or so folks I know personally that have had it over the last year it has been very mild.  The experts don't know either, they just keep moving the bar.

I've had three neighbors die of it.  Everyone else was asymptomatic minus 2.  Count me as one getting a vaccine and wearing a mask when indoors.  It's not that hard.

That’s awesome.

Mine was like the worst flu I’ve ever had. Felt like someone very heavy sitting on my chest for 5 days. Day 6 I woke up and after a while realized I could breathe and felt much better. After that, it was just hard to sit alone in a room having my family bring me everything and wave from the door with their masks on. Spent thanksgiving fishing all day alone...so it wasn’t all bad...

I am 74 years old and have lived in Central Florida for 25 years. Our county has the largest population of seniors in the country.  You would think our friends and neighbors would have been devastated by the virus?  The opposite is true.  Seniors know their time on Earth is limited.  We kept our distance and wore our masks.  More importantly, we avoided large groups and stayed among ourselves.  Few of us have kids or go to work. Not seeing the grand kids at Christmas was tough.

I do not know anyone who died of Covid.  I only know a few who got the virus.  None of them went to the hospital.  Our governor did the right thing by quarantining all the nursing homes. The people that died of Covid had other issues as well.  Everyone I know has had their shots. Restaurants are open.  The theme parks are open.  Schools are open.  Everyone I know is still wearing their masks.

Boat ramps are nuts.  It seems everyone moved to Florida and bought a new boat.   I don't even think about fishing on the weekends.  I can't wait for things to get back to normal, whatever that is.

My wife swears I had covid in Feb 2020 before the testing started. Latex out on the couch for 5 weeks. Every joint/muscle hurt even my eyes. Didn’t watch tv or look at my phone. I went to hospital when I started having breathing problems. They told me I had bronchitis. I’ve had bronchitis lots of times and it was never like this. Dr put me on a antibiotic and I was good in a couple days.

It’s good to hear that you were relatively isolated from devastation.

Colleague’s step dad died from it in his 50’s perfectly healthy. Student’s dad died from it in his early 40’s perfectly healthy. A younger student’s dad died from it in his late 30’s perfectly healthy.

Not everyone was “immuno compromised.” That was the problem.
