One of my other hobbies besides fishing is collecting and modifying swords. Mainly the Japanese katana. I enjoy tsukamaki and saya customization. I am planning to build a forge and hopefully forge my own soon but want to do it in the traditional Japanese method so it will take some time to do this as you need iron sand and create your own steel (tamahagane).

I'm a huge fan of high quality blades that will literally get as sharp as a razor and hold an edge, but that's more along the line of knives and axes.  Never have been a sword person.

I've got one fine blade created by Omega Artworks - it's a Scottish Dirk with bronze pommel and guard, walnut grip, full tang. IIRC: this one is made from high-chromium steel that holds a great edge and hasn't had a spot of corrosion in the 25 years I've owned it.

Omega has created props for such shows/movies as ST: Discovery, Heroes Reborn, and others. ( https://www.omegaartworks.com/movies-and-theater.php )

I’m not a sword guy.  I’ll regret that if zombies become real.

but I like knives.  I used to LOVE knives, but that got stupid quick. I kept a few for hunting and EDC, but I sold/gave away the rest.

My latest purchase. A tiny backup folder for my PFD.  It’s rust proof and scary sharp.

My grandpa has an old Civil-War era officer's sword. I think that it is pretty cool! It's pretty dull though because it is hanging on his wall. And he gave me a vintage knife from my grandma's dad. It's around a 1930's folding knife. I need to sharpen it before I use it for cutting stuff like heavy braid.

I have a few knives my Grandpa took from dead German soldiers. They have Solingen written on them, which is still to this day the blade center of Germany (has been for a loooong time). I think I also have a bayonet from the war or maybe my brother does
