Something that sticks out to me is that I have rarely used billed crankbaits. Are they worth it? There are many techniques I still have not tried. The one billed crankbait I use somewhat frequently and will always use is the shad rap. It was my first confidence bait.

If you don’t use drop shot or slip shot (finesse C-rig) in So Cal lakes plan to have more skunks days then bass caught days.

That is crazy to imagine. Pressured bass are keeping up with the progression of technology. Ain't being sarcastic; I can see why it might seem like I am.

Nearly anything with a treble hook attached to it. I could literally fish five foot deep in the mariannas trench and I would would get snagged on something. It never fails.

A-Rig for two reasons

1: I don't have a rod/reel combo that can handle it

2: It's illegal here in MN.

A-Rig. I just think they are a waste of money personally.

I hope I don't get banned from this forum, or have the bass police kick in my door, but the truth is, I don't use plastic worms.  I have used them, but prefer other baits.

Same, i prefer creature baits over worms

Neko Rig ?

But I do throw a nail weighted Wacky Rig!

A-rig also. I’m too old to throw that weight around for 6-8 hours. Need to work the next day. Never looked into the mini A-rigs versions.

Can’t say that I’m using much with a boot tail of all the soft plastics I throw. Plan on trying as a jig and buzzbaits trailer vs. curly tail I currently use. Something like as Swim Senko.

Have never fished a larger swim bait. The segmented or line through types. I’ll buy one later toward the dog day of summer and try one this season. Y’all’s talk about them enough that my curiosity is peaked a little.

Dropshot worm on a dropshot rig.

I just can't stick with it.

A-Rigs.  Never owned one.  Couldn't care any less.  C-Rig.  No reason, just never rigged one up.  Drop Shot.  BORING!

Wacky Rig.  Have all the stuff for it, of course, but always found it TOO easy and just wasteful of stick worms.  Meh.

Ned.  Got the gear just never seen any reason to dedicate a rod to it or tie one on during the course of a day.

I use them all.  Quite a few I don't have any confidence in, but once I've been out on the water for a couple of hours without even a nibble, I get bored and just start tying on stuff that I never ordinarily use.  Sometimes I even get creative (crazy), like doing a dropshot, with a jig as the weight.

I see people who use a C-rig with a jig as the weight

You're missing out. Big time.

I believe they work as people obviously catch fish on them like crazy. They might not be the best option in my waters, which tend to be super clear/I'm often fishing for smallmouth. Where I fish for LMB is filled with too many weeds for a chatterbait, but a spinnerbait will sometimes come through.

When I see clips of people fishing in the USA in reservoirs and such the water looks WAY muddier than anything I've ever encountered up here.

I'll keep one with me though and give it another try when the conditions seem right:)

King, the fishing in Mexico is outstanding, without much pressure, beautiful lakes, and a lot of big ladies.

So you have the luxury of fishing hard, moving baits while the rest of us in the USA have to use plastics when the moving bait bite goes away.

How about a list of the baits you use so we can see what you are throwing?

Same here. I try throwing a lipless or square bill sometimes but always end up switching to a t-rig or something else weedless. One exceptions is the Whopper Plopper because it floats and I just try to avoid throwing it in grass where it will snag.

I use crankbaits ( all sizes and depths,), and spinnerbaits (all sizes and colors, and fish them from top to bottom fast or slow), the majority of the time.  Football and swim jigs occasionally.   Top water poppers, spooks, buzz baits, and prop baits mostly in the morning.  I started using A rig and chatter bait this year, limited success so far.  Jerk baits, suspending and floating.  Inline #3 inline spinner when bite is tough.  I do own and fish a variety of soft plastics but catch 95% of my bass on hard baits.  Strong winds, zero patience and lack of skill are the big reasons I don't use plastics often.  Working a crankbait through flooded trees, with nets hanging from the branches can get frustrating and expensive, but covers water fast, works in strong winds, and catches big bass.
