Strange/unusual things you've seen fishing

As a kayaker, I’ve accidentally come across way too many people peeing/pooping on the shoreline.  Not gender specific.  

No one hears me on the water!!  Some stuff can’t be unseen. 
 

I should hang a cat-bell on my kayak.

Snapping turtle tried attacking a bass after it swam off from being released, also I've had cormorants try diving for fish I was still fighting in.

I've posted this before but I was sitting in a small cove at our local reservoir one day when a VERY attractive woman paddles by on a stand up paddle board.  Topless.  She saw me and flashed a big smile and said..."Beautiful day, isn't it?"  Uh,....yes.  Yes it was.

Last year I had a gal in a kayak ask me what time it was. She wasn't topless, but the micro-kini she was 'almost' wearing left little to the imagination.

 

Didn't catch any bass that day, but it was a beautiful time out anyway...

Well.....unfortunately the day I saw the topless woman ended with me in the ER having a treble hook cut out of my left thumb that was buried straight in past the bend after a little bass shivered while unhooking him from a Rat-L-Trap.

Bass already long after the spawn in April. Also, fresh foam in all of the rocks on the side of the lake the wind is blowing to, indicating fish are spawning now.

 

Here’s a pic of just about to go out on their own fry and the male loosely protecting them.  The water is about 4-5’ deep. The fry are on the surface, the male was hanging around a foot or two off the bottom.

 

There were also hundreds of fry that were just free size all over, so there was a lot of spawning going on in March, maybe even February.

 

This is like 3 months early.

New to the lake we have a place on in Michiana....  Nesting bald eagles and Ospreys dive bombing for juvenile carp/panfish.  So far, the Osprey has found most of my favorite feeding flats, in the end I'm sure I'm gonna learn more from him than the other way around.

At my Grandma's condo system in the woods, I swear I see a group of deer every time I go there! They aren't that scared of us, but I still keep my distance.

if you saw a panther you are one lucky guy.  I have heard them off the L67 islands, but never got a glimpse of one.  Very secretive!

i have seen tourists along Alligator Alley feeding a whole loaf of bread to a gator at the edge of the canal.  I had to tell her she is putting us fisherman in danger, and that is against the law.  She laughed and I called FWO to complain.  I sent them a pic of her feeding and the car they were in.

I have seen 2 panthers so far in my life and hope to see more of them. The first one was well over 25 years ago and the last one was a couple years ago. The Florida panther population is increasing in some areas so there might be more sightings in the future. Have seen other rare animals and caught many rare fish so yes I am very fortunate and I am grateful for the experiences I have had.

I'm in Oregon, near Portland.  I'm fishing with some soft plastics.  Its very quiet and peaceful.  Suddenly a couple walks by and their dog jumps in the pond after some ducks.  Trudging through the Lilly pads.  The couple runs right in front of me while I'm fishing clapping their hands hard and yelling "SALAMI!"  COME HERE!  "(CLAP CLAP CLAP) SALAMI!  SALAMI!!  (CLAP CLAP) SALAMI!!!"  Come here SALAMI!  SALAAAAMI!!"  After the first round of yelling for salami, and I mean like literally right in front of me...I threw my head back and was laughing so hard I had to sit down.   "I don't understand is happening right now??!!"  Never saw anything like it.

 

I had to pack up and try to find a better spot.  The dog was having so much fun and the humans yelling for salami could be heard far and wide.  I was starting to get hungry.

 

Personally, it was very amusing.  I needed that laugh.  And Salami is a great name for a dog.

This Dang Koi! I was fishing, intensely watching the slack line on my wacky set-up when a huge Koi swims up and camps out right on front of me. I have seen it several times since... This pic is from yesterday.

  One arm guy with a rope around him swimming his boat to the dock.  His only Battery ran down and he couldn't crank it and since he couldn't paddle he tied a rope to himself and started swimming. Yes we stopped and towed him in.

This is kind of strange . I was fishing the reservoir and saw something bobbing in the water .I turned the boat towards it and saw it was a large television . I tied a rope around it and towed it to the ramp . It was super heavy but somehow got it loaded up . Took it home and let it dry for a few days . Hard to believe but it worked ....... wonder why someone tossed it ?

While kayaking a small creek, I looked up as a deer jumped right over me from one side of the bank to the other. I could here the sound of wind as it flew through the air. Close call.

Probably because the rightful owner of the television was chasing them with a baseball bat

A one-armed guy came trolling by our dock once. He had a rod holder on a belt around his waist. He would cast, put the rod in the holder and retrieveD. I still remember he was fishing a crankbait. My mom said to me after he was gone "That would be you if you lost an arm." Yep.

Last night fishing a small “lake” at a public park. Dude is fishing across from me so maybe 30ft. A guy walks out from under the bridge and proceeds to take a leak in the lake. His dog comes running up and starts barking. Dude turns and pees on his dog while telling it to shut up. A lady comes from the other direction and yells at him about yelling at his dog and peeing on it.  He leaves cussing. She proceeds to squat and pee in the water. Me and the dude across from me just keep reeling and watching all this. She leaves. I’m kinda chuckling to myself. 
 

Dude calls across to me “hey man, are those the normal apple wired headphones that came with the phone?”

You've actually seen something hit?  Duck hunting years ago paddling to the blind in pitch black, we had space debris come so close I could hear it rumbling across the sky and see the smoke trail it left, lit up the entire pond like it was daylight.  for a split second I thought it was a flair, but it was going way to fast, and was gone almost as soon as it appeared.

I had been fishing for smallmouth in a river. I laid on the bank resting and to my right less than 3 feet away was a giant beech tree. I then watched a doe with 2 fawns come down the opposite side of the river then cross directly to me and as they passed between me and the big beech I slapped the big doe on the hiney and one of the fawns ran against my hand and arm during the explosion of movement my smack on the bottom brought on. It was amazing and in the middle of a wilderness. To say I touched 2 wild deer. A once in a lifetime thing at least for me. On the bank lay a chewed beaver stick measuring just over 2 feet long, it measured the distance between me and the big beech, I still have the beaver stick for my souvenir of the event.
