I currently have a daiwa ballistic LT3000D-C, I was wondering if I could buy a 2500 spool and interchange them? -Thanks

Some models of reels, the body of the 2500 and 3000 are the same, it's just the spool that's different.

Other's, there is a difference in body size - so you can't swap spool sizes on them.

I'm not familiar with the Ballistic LT's - so I'm not sure if you can or can't.

I asked a Daiwa Rep the same question about the 2500 and 3000 being interchangeable for the Ballistic and Fuego.  He said Daiwa doesn't recommend it because there is slight difference in size of the frame and or rotor which can cause line management issues.  It sounded to me like you could get away with it, but if it doesn't work its on you.

You might be able to swap between ballistic and Tatula spool, not Fuego. I know that 1000 and 2000 are interchangeable but not sure on 2500/3000 size Ballistic.
Question, why do you want to go with smaller size spool than what you are using?

I checked Ballistic LT schematics for you and most part are the same except Rotor between 2500 and 3000 size. Meaning rotor on 3000 size might be bigger than 2500 for those bigger spool. Therefore smaller spool should fit in bigger rotor. the problem is you might encounter with line lay issue.

I can get a cheaper spool for the 2500 then the 3000 and would like to have 2 just in case I want to switch from flourocarbon to braid, thank you for the help though!
