Surfcaster79 Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Who hates them as much as I do and refuses to use one to secure a leader to your line? Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted April 17, 2021 Super User Posted April 17, 2021 Only time I use a barrel swivel anymore is for a Carolina Rig. 2 Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted April 17, 2021 Super User Posted April 17, 2021 To me, they're worthless. I'll use only ball bearing swivels. jj Quote

Happybeerbuzz Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 I use a small one for dropshotting to reduce the line twist, and I would use one for C-rigging but I have not used one in years since I have been trying to learn how to use a jig better. 1 Quote
Captain Phil Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 I tie one on a foot ahead of a weightless worm. Works as a light swivel. Looks like a wacky rig with a straight worm. Finesse Carolina rig. Quote
CrankFate Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 I am not a fan of them, but I do use the for some C rigs. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted April 17, 2021 Super User Posted April 17, 2021 They don't bother me at all. I do use quality swivels when needed which is only for jigging spoons & drop shot rigs. Quote

I used to fish alot at night... ie; midnight to sunrise during a new moon, so dark you couldnt see your hand in front of your face I got tired of reeling a swivel through my top guide, been tying the alberto knot fluro to braid ever since. NittyGrittyBoy Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Weightless trick worm to minimize line twist. Other than that, they mean nothing to me Quote
Super User scaleface Posted April 18, 2021 Super User Posted April 18, 2021 I use them to avoid line twist on lures like Little George"s . I dont like to tie them on but dislike line twist even more . Carolina rigs too . Quote
ike8120 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 I use them on my super fluke rig to prevent line twist. Also on power bait rigs for trout. Quote
Super User gim Posted April 18, 2021 Super User Posted April 18, 2021 I use one when I’m Lindy rigging for walleyes. I have a clevis attached above it on the main line to snap in a weight and then attach a 5-8 foot snell of mono to the barrel swivel with mono. A small hook and leech is at the end. Drag it around and wait for a bite. I do not use them for bass fishing. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 18, 2021 Super User Posted April 18, 2021 I haven’t used one for years. Tells you how much I like the c-rig. Quote
blckshirt98 Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Spro Power Swivels are the best and I use them without shame! 1 Quote
