If I tie on an expensive bait, i simply don't cast in the direction of a pike or Musky......that's all I got to say about that.

Great idea!  Now add submerged trees and branches!

I got my initial reaction on film...here's the lost lure/pike incident.

LOL, I'd wager a guess that the pike was at least as bummed as you were as he does the dive of shame with a hunk of plastic pinned to his grill.

In all my years of fishing, I have fished plenty of lakes with pike and musky but only tied into one.  And yes, I did loose my lure (senko).   It was fun while it lasted though.

He did leave out "versatile" so maybe the pitcher only 3/4 full.

Anyways, Ill take Keitech S I Fats over hazedongs any day.

Me too. The Hazedongs produce, but the Keitech (regular) SI and my new favorite finesse bait, the Keitech Sexy Impact kick butt in comparison.

I own around 35 jerkbaits. Megabass, 6th Sense, Lucky Craft, Jackall, Rapala, Strike King etc. And I can honestly say, I catch a LOT more bass on my Vision 110's.

**Disclaimer** I also throw the 110 way more than the others, which could explain it.  ?

Very true with everything.  I catch most of my best bass on a jig.  Either bottom or swim jig.  But then again I am throwing one of those most of the time.

Well I guess according to the OP I should just quit fishing because I don’t own any Megabass baits!

Yeh No! This thread reminds me of some posters on the old river smallies, that if you weren’t fishing lucky craft baits and Shimano reels you didn’t know what you are doing. Well now that I can afford those Lucky Craft baits, my good old Bandit 100 just destroys the LC SB in productivity, go figure;)

I don’t doubt a 110 will rule on some days, but a provoke, shadow rap, husky jerk, etc will have their days too depending on what the fish want that day.

The Megabass bait I laugh at is the S crank that has the same retrieve pattern as the scatter rap series. Some trash those and of course love the Megabass. I have fished the scatter crank on rivers across current with success. Only critique I will agree with is that you can’t burn it because it washes out.

It's okay, you can give WRB a 40 year old Mr Twister grub and he will outfish the OP using Megabass anything most likely.

Interesting.  For us, it is a question of how many we se per day not if we will.

Is there a reason you say this? Just wanted a reasonable discussion,

Wasn't saying or suggesting anything about how you fish. I do not care about what you fish with I was curious if there is a bait that out preforms a bait that is also in the megabass line up. Wiggle wart vs griffin.

I've got a couple boxes full of jerkbaits, very few are MB and I rarely fish them. The ones I own are because they're in colors I wanted that were unavailable from other companies, not because they're MB. I don't fish for a living, and I manage to struggle through with my 6th Sense, Duo, and Strike King jerkbaits. I think I have 1 Flap Slap and Maybe 2 Pop Max? My River2Sea Bubble Walker 80 outfishes the Pop Max so badly day in and day out that I rarely bother fishing the MB. Nothing about them has ever been impressive to me except how expensive and fragile they are. I have no issues with guys wanting to buy them and I'm well aware that they're a great company, but they're not my cup of tea.

When you pony up good money for something, your brain automatically convinces itself that the product you’ve purchased it far and away better than its competitors. The only factor that causes this is price, it’s a fascinating phenomenon that is not exclusive to fishing

As TNRiver said, it’s the fact that possibly you and others assume based on cost something is better. That isn’t true many times and not just with fishing lures. If you like Megabass buy all you want, just know you have some really nice gear, but all of it isn’t the best for every situation. No company has produced a bass lure that guarantees fish caught yet;) I briefly thought dynamite, but if your in the wrong location you won’t get any bass.

There was a show on TV (brain games maybe) that illustrated this phenomenon, they baked two identical cakes and had a taste testing, one was labeled much more expensive than the other, almost without fail people would praise the taste of the costlier one and  criticized the cheaper one. It  isn't a matter of folks being dishonest, there is a real perceived difference between the ears.

It seems similar to a placebo effect

Your right I mistyped and meant the S crank, the scatter rap comparisons should have given it away;) I did fix it above. Not sure how I used the R2S swimbait name since I don’t even own one lol.

I stay on a pretty tight budget, ok i'm cheap. I did buy a couple of Megabass lures to see what the hype was. Do they catch bass? yes. Do my other lures catch bass? yes. Did I notice a big difference? no. Like with all fishing, I think it is more on when, where, and conditions that make those differences. Let each person decide on their gear, what they can afford, and have faith in what you throw. Even a kid with a cheap combo on the dock has probably outfished the many high end bass boats out on the water, at least once Lol.

I can't even count the number of times I've been cut off my pike or musky. I've almost completely stopped using jerk baits in my river because if fish are active I can be pretty confident a pike is going to take my lure.

I did have one take a tube last year but I got over it. For some reason they rarely cut off a jig or whatever but the suspending jerk baits are gone. LOL
