Thoughts on lund pro v bass.

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a lund 1875 pro v bass. Does anyone on here have any thoughts on this boat? How does a 150 hp motor push this boat around? And does anyone know specifically how long the boat/motor/trailer is with a swing away tongue? I've got 23 feet of garage to work with. Thanks!

I just sold my 20ft Lund after 8 years because I am moving into a bigger boat. I would make no hesitation buying another Lund if it suited my needs. There's a reason they are the "Cadillac" of aluminum fishing boats.

I just noticed your post in the Renegade thread. If you are going to fish Green Bay with any frequency, get a 20'+ fiberglass multispecies boat. I fish Sturgeon Bay a few times a year in the spring and the fall as well as Chicago's lakefront, and have for years. I had a 20' Lund Predator which I recently sold. The Predator was more suited for bigger water than the ProV Bass is. While Lund is a helluva boat, you'd be doing yourself a disservice expecting it to fish comfortable and safely, with any frequency, on the Great Lakes.

Thanks for the advice. I don't plan on getting out there very often, and definitely watching the weather before going out there. I agree a huge glass boat would be best out there, but 95% of the time i fish under 1000 acre lakes. I just can't justify a boat that size.

Then the Pro V Bass would be perfect for you if you can swing it.

If you are looking for a cheaper option, check out the Crestliner Bass Hawk. Welded version of the Lund Pro-V, cheaper in some aspects (like the rod locker flexes and zero dry storage)

Been running one since it first came out in 2016.

I like mine quite a bit.

My rig  on the trailer with swing tongue is 22 ft 8 inches LOA

104 inches wide (8'8")

200 ProXS is 82 inches tall trimmed up 

Talons are 86 inches high.

That is longer than I would expect, my garage might be a bit tight. I might be able to go diagonal with it though.

Have you looked at the 1775 Impact SS?  That's the most common model I see on Wisconsin lakes.  I had to get the Rebel XL 1650 because it fit in my 20Ft garage

I have looked at that one and i would say its still on the short list. I just really like big bass-style casting deck though. that's the only hang up for me

And one of the great things Sturgeon Bay/Door Co is that if the wind is high with rough seas you can always go to the other side of the peninsula.  Numerous times the waves were bad at either Sisters Bay or Rowley's but relatively calm on the other side.

I fish my Triton bass boat on Sturgeon and Green Bay about twice a year. If a Pro V Bass isn’t big enough, maybe that’s a day to stay home. Just my 2 cents. A 25” transom should handle anything a boater with safety in mind can handle.

The Pro V bass would be my dream boat. I basically fish a lot of smaller waters but it handles bigger water better than your typical aluminum boat due to the hull design but you also pay for it.

Whatever boat you decide on, make sure it fits in the garage. You don’t want to get home with a brand new rig and find out it won’t fit. Check the length, and check it again to be sure.

Big fan of the Pro-V hull, don't care for the bass floorplans.  I prefer depth inside of the traditional Pro-V layouts.

1875 Pro Guide will fit in your garage as well.  Has a bass style casting deck as well, albeit a little higher off the water.

the musky version has a normal depth cockpit with pedestal seats but you lose rear casting deck space.

But it also has the elevated front deck, like a bass boat.  I'm not a fan of bass boats.

I think you can get the Pro V Bass version with a single console.  On their website it says "passenger console optional."

 

I think I've seen A-Jay take his out in a video before once too.
