You can buy a used float tube for basically nothing if you check fb marketplace frequently, float tube was a game changer for me!

Well it is simpler to pick up a different rod than to re-tie, so why not simplify to the extreme and bring every rod you own

My weakness is casting a drop shot. I can fish it vertically just fine, but I might as well cut it off and throw it in the lake if I try to cast it. My wife loves it, I know it works, but I have bad luck with the ol droop shoot. It’s either hung up or twisted in a knot half the time.

I am a fantastic bass fisherman.  Of course by fantastic, I mean fantastically mediocre.  My biggest weakness is my frogging obsession.  My fishing days are broken down into "Frogging Time" and "everything else."  I am solidly low to middle of the pack in my skill level of everything else.  I don't really get skunked anymore but I'm no world beater.  The good things is that I don't really care that much.  I'm good enough to be a solid fisherman and I'm happy that way.  Doesn't mean I don't try.  Last year was a bad year for frogging on my home lake so I focused on other techniques, including getting comfortable with jigs.  They became a "very close to confidence" bait for me.

If you are going to be fixated on a specific type of fishing, I can’t think of a better one than frogging.  IMO, nothing quite like a frog bite.

I can't begin to guess how many hours, weeks, months I've spent chucking frogs or how many Advil I've downed because of shoulder bursitis due to how many hours, weeks, months I've spent chucking frogs...lol.  I know I've had MANY 8-10 hours days with a frog rod in my hand.

My weakness has to be bringing too much stuff.  Also, I tend to convince myself that a day will either be good or bad before I even try, which leads me to either disappointment when I do go, or I don't go at all because I think it will be a fruitless effort.  I need to just get out and fish!

My weakness... hooks. I had a treble buried in a knuckle. Another boat goes by waving "Hi!" being friendly. There I am smiling and waving back all the while through a grimace of pure pain as the X-Rap attached to my waving hand is digging deeper... and deeper. It just isn't a party until you have to push a hook through.

I’m loaded up.  My gut tells me slow swimming my big bluegill replica will work.  The Ganatrel is tied on.

I used to be a top water guy, with rapala jerkbaits, devil horse, chugbugs.   For 20 years that was my day, and I was pretty good at it.  Big problem was it was feast or famine.  Some days you kill them, some days dead.   Now I will go weeks without picking up a rod with these baits.  I throw plastics 90% of the time and fish the entire water column.  It has allowed me to catch regardless of conditions, time of day, and time of year.  I also slowed down the speed I fish.  Stick with plastics, and experiment with sizes, and colors, until you find what they want.  I also fish all forms of cover without hang-ups.  Our lakes down here full of thick weeds and made much more water available.  Makes a big difference.

I know they work and have had some success.  I do believe plastics worms are the most versatile bass lure ever.  I simply have not had great success with them.  I do fish hard baits that cover the entire water column and am successful at catching bass 12 months a year in a variety of conditions.  I have recently added chaterbaits, and A rig to my arsenal, giving me even less time to struggle with plastics.  I haven't given up, and am not to old to change, maybe someday I will throw nothing but plastics.

My downfall has, and will always be, I love to throw hard baits (jigs included). On a tough day, I'll just downsize and fish tighter to cover.  By the time I give in, it's because my shoulder is ready to explode and I'll switch over to soft plastics and finesse rigs.

Me too, always vacation at deep mountain lakes in Ga. or NC.  Clear water and over 100 feet deep not far from shore.  My only success has been with knock-downs near the shore line, and a few docks worked real slow.  Florida low-landers don't do well at elevation!  Going to Keowee just north of Clemson.  Not as mountainous this year, but a lot more boat traffic.

Jigs are my weakness. I've caught my pb smallie (6 1/2 lb) on a Denny Baurer black and blue jig, but that's it...the only one. Must have been the dumbest smallie in the lake!

My weakness is I don’t go chasing waterfalls. I stick to the rivers and the lakes that I’m used to.

Seriously though I like to stick close to home. I usually hit 1 of three spots that are less than a 10 minute drive from my house.

I can’t do that. I have a decent lake 7 mins from my front door.  It’s my least favorite lake.  It gets so boring. I love exploring and seeing new things.

My weakness is just not having enough time.  Between the wife, kids, hunting, work, other responsibilities, I'm lucky to just get out for 45 mins a couple times a week before it gets dark after the kids get to bed.  That's just on a couple nearby ponds.  I'm trying to make it work but man it makes it tough to figure things out.

I used to do this but with the day of fishing overall.  If I went the first couple hours without much luck, I felt defeated and destined to have a bad day and just kind of went through the motions until it was time to leave.  But with experience and time on the water, I have learned that often times the fish turn on later in the day or I change tactics and/or location and it makes all the difference.  One of my best days ever on smallmouth up north started at 11 AM where I hadn't had a single bite for the previous 3 hours.  Then the wind picked up a little and several 5 lbers later and bunch of 4 lbers, I had a 24 lb bag.
