QED Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I just purchased a new-old-stock (NOS) Fenwick Golden Wing ultralight spinning rod on a whim (it hasn't yet arrived). I have an old Fenwick HMG version of this rod, which I use often. Did a google search but didn't find much in the way of history or other information on the former line of rods. Also, it appears that the over time there may have been more than one iteration of this particular rod series. Anyone have some basic background history on the Fenwick Golden Wing rod series? Thanks in advance for your help. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted April 15, 2021 Super User Posted April 15, 2021 Had one in my quiver a couple decades ago... don't remember anything special about it. Its probably in the covey of rods that are leaning in the corner of my basement hobby room gathering dust. oe Quote
zell_pop1 Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Probably their top of the line rod in the 90s, should be plenty sensitive. Quote

I think the Gold Wing is still offered. https://www.7seasproshopthai.com/categories/rods/fenwick-golden-wing-pro-edition-fgws902mh-spinning.html This one is about $140 Quote

QED Posted April 16, 2021 Author Posted April 16, 2021 Thanks everyone for the helpful replies. The Fenwick Golden Wing fishing rods didn't leave much of a digital footprint so your input is much appreciated. It will apparently arrive Monday! Quote
QED Posted April 18, 2021 Author Posted April 18, 2021 Rod arrived early. Probably dates back to the 90's. @keeper, thanks for posting the photo of the old '92 BPS catalog page. 1 Quote
