I’m used to spinning setups with a left handed retrieve (I’m right hand dominant). I want to hop on the bait casting band wagon and need to know if I should stick to left handed retrieve when going into bait casters and what set up would y’all suggest(under $80) as a starter combo.

Looks like you already have lots of great suggestions, but I will add this if its not too late.  Utilize what ever is most comfortable for you to use.  If the right hand retrieve seems weird then go with the lefty.  There truly isn't any right or wrong answer to which one to use.

There are some great Lew's baitcast rod and reel Combos out there that will serve you well.  The Lew's American Hero or Lazer MG will be a nice combo to do everything you will need.

All my BCs are lefty cause my right works the rod. There’s no accetpable reason to teach my left the same skill…only to go back and forth. Always struck me as a waste of my fishing time.  My shimano slx was actually on sale because it was lefty.
