Anyone else notice a trend on youtube where youtubers, usually millennials are sneaking into private properties like peoples backyard, golf courses, and other closed off areas to fish a small pond and catch "big bass"? I see a lot of comments think it's not an issue to do that and are even influenced to go try that on their own.

I see one vid from someone who does that, and they're on my 'banned' list...forever. One group that did it regularly and got some notoriety I won't even touch their baits.

I agree its stupid but keep in mind much of YouTube is fake. A lot of them are asking for permission then clickbaiting the video with "WE SNUCK INTO A PRIVATE POND!" crying laughing emoji crying laughing emoji

Irene? Irene?

Not trying to spark controversy, just ticking me off people thinking it's cool by saying  comparing it to others

I know exactly who you're talking about

Even if it's faked - they're promoting 'bad behavior' by doing that...no difference to me.

No matter what you are trying to do, this will turn into a thread about "those" guys. We all know that's who you are talking about. Nothing good comes from it.

The issue is many of there viewers don't know that or even think about it so they go do that on their own. Some videos of them sneaking into places like disney after closing time is also pretty dang hard to clickbait but I get what you're saying

I don't think staying silent about sneaking into places you aren't supposed to be in is good either. Calling people out on it outweights the critique that will come at you.

A lot of Youtubers are fake people once you get to know them in person. That is why it is best to not take many of them serious. There are good fishing Youtubers which I am subscribed to so not all of them are clowns like the ones mentioned earlier in this thread.

YouTube or not, fishing illegally is condoned where I come from.

Having permission is the only responsible way to fish private water.

My 10 year old son has used my phone to go on Google Earth and look for ponds or lakes that are private and has said to me “we need to fish those”. I then explain to him we can’t just do that, and without permission it is illegal. I know where he got it from and I explained it’s most likely fake, what he sees.

Around my house this would be a good way to get a seat full of buckshot. Always asked permission. Don't sneak around on other folks property.

Those aren’t really fishing YouTube channels anyhow. They are just trying to be entertainers and jump on a fad to make a buck and some ego.

Most millennials are in their mid 30s to early 40s. Millennial isn't just the name you give to all young people. It's not us who is doing this. The people you're referring to are Gen Z, not millennials.

Even I know that much - and I'm an 'ancient' Boomer.

yep gotta get the generations right my man. I'm a millennial...I'm also a grown 38 year old man with a real job, pay my taxes and don't go messing around where I shouldn't be. Despite what "they" want you to think about my generation we aren't all lazy, worthless and entitled.

There are young men who are mature and old men who have mid life crisis who try too hard to act young so it is best not to criticize someone just because they are young. If you do that then you are no better than an old man who screams ''get off my lawn'' to someone who is not even on the lawn. Any person fishing private private property and bragging about it is setting a bad example.

And that's an equally good way for you to go to prison for murder or attempted murder. You don't get to shoot people who are on your property (and not in your home posing a threat). But that'll sure teach 'em not to fish yer darn pond *spits tobacco*. The next owner after you're imprisoned will enjoy that water, I'm sure.

(I can condemn both senseless murder and illegally fishing and trespassing all at the same time.)

Of course I do also. Some folks don't see it that way.

In my eyes if you have a fishing rod you pose a threat. Threat to my fish and my pond/lake.

Know matter what if I see anyone and I mean anyone where I know they aren't supposed to be, I've got the game warden on speed dial, and he's my neighbor.

I lived in a condo on a golf course from 6th grade til college and snuck in a lot of fishing, I can’t throw stones at anyone. I also rented a condo with 4 buddies on the same course a few years after college. Needless to say I got ran off the ponds a few times . One lady told me I was going to catch a goose and I had to leave and another told me I was going to kill his precious grass carp with a senko and needed to leave. I know more about fish than any of these morons, People need to lighten up
