My bass club had an outstanding tournament on "Lake" Anna on April 10th, and a few of them got on my case about calling "Lake" Anna "One Fish Anna" as everyone had a fantastic tournament.

OK, the guys win. I will no longer call Lake Anna "One Fish Anna" as all teams but one caught their five fish limit and the one that did not had four fish to weigh-in.

So long "One Fish Anna" until we meet again (Next year's April 10th weekend if possible).

I’ve heard things are really doing well on Anna, haven’t been there yet but I will be in two weeks, a friend of mine said he broke the 20lb mark for his first time and he has been fishing her for many years, we will see how much it changes in those two weeks ?

Hope you had fun my friend and caught a big ol bag of bass.

Had my best day on there yesterday pre-fishing for next week.  I'll probably get skunked on Saturday.

In the words of Bruce Hornsby and the range, “that’s just the way it is”

Ok maybe I'll get motivated to hit Anna.

My 1st cousin lives there and is an avid bass fisherman and is claiming the same.

Hour drive and hop in his boat ?

Things defiantly change quick on that body of water but if it remains stable it should be good, let us know how you get along tomorrow my friend, best of luck and be safe !!!

Biggest turnout ever for our club; 85 kayaks!

Much tougher bite than last week...or even yesterday.   Less than 10 scored a five fish limit (min 12").

I went back to Pigeon today.  None of the spots I marked last week produced today.  It was a grind.  You could see big fish strolling in the shallows, but they weren't eating much today.  I pulled enough out of shallow wood and under docks to squeak out a 5th place finish.   But I sure didn't learn much that would help anyone fishing tomorrow or next week.  I think if I were going to do it again tomorrow, I'd go to a creek with more docks, because I always feel I have a shot to pull a limit out from under docks at Anna when nothing else is working.

Glad to hear your club had such a great turnout for your event and really happy to see that you did well with your finish, congrats on that effort my friend !!

I went out yesterday to do some scouting for next weekends tournament event, I covered everything from Valentines to the top of Terry’s Run, to the top Pumunkey, to the top of Anna stretch, I got a ton of bites but it was like they were just doing it to intimidate the bait so I picked up a dropshot and Berkley Bottom Hopper worm, I tied on a mini flipping skirted jig also and started sticking them that way but still lost a good bit, it was an awfully hard day of fishing, I may have managed 9 pounds max for my best 5 on the day, I saw what you saw as well so I hope things change by weeks end, knowing Anna and my luck there however, I don’t expect it to ??

Thank you very much for your valued report buddy !!

We found the buck bass on April 10th all over the place, but no big ladies.

One guy in our club tournament caught a 4.3 pound lady around a marina and this fish proved to be the difference in us winning or coming in second. We came in second as we could not find a big fish all day.

I would think the bass may pull off their beds and go deep due to the cold front coming into central Virginia Thursday night and then the expected rain on Saturday . The weather reports are constantly changing so keep an eye on the weather.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Mt, if memory serves me the water temperature started out around 58* and went as high as 63* during the day.
