Im thinking on putting my kietechs in a plano/flambeau type box. So as to eliminate a bunch of clam shells. Do any of you do this? How has it worked out? 2.8 thru 4.3 are about all i use. Thanks everyone.

As long as the box you use is stowing the baits horizontal, you should be OK.  You may get some slight bends in the tail, but nothing that bothers me.  In my kayak crate, the 3700s stow vertically,  and even if you have the baits 'head-down', you are going to get some deformed swimbaits....hot water can revive most, but no longer worth it to me in the yak.  I do take them out of clamshells sometimes and stow them in ziplocs ....horizontally

The only reason I do not like to do this is because if the baits come with any scent or oil in them, it makes the boxes all sticky and slimy. Also I am not good at remembering names of colors, so I keep in the package, I will know when I need more.

Also I hate how some of the boxes start to get that fade on them. I have been using bass mafia boxes and they are great, but pricey for sure.

I keep mine in a 3700 box, stored horizontally in my kayak crate.  No issues.

You can take a good pair of scissors and cut away all but 1/8 or 3/16 of the clam shell around the perimeter of the bait.  You wind up with individually shelled swimbaits that wont kink.

I’ve Been storing my Fat Impacts in a Plano box for years with no noticeable deformation. I do keep them horizontal almost all the time, they only end up vertical when I stick them in a backpack for a day’s outing.

I put Keitech and Rage Swimmer clam shells in a KVD Speedbag. Other plastics go in a wallet.

Thanks guys for your time. I will give it a try.

I've used a cabelas waterproof box for the last year and a half or so. Works just fine, but like other posters mentioned you have to store it in a way the baits are on their side. I really don't like the rounded parts of most waterproof boxes as I lose a lot of space. I think the only tail kink I've ever had was when I overpacked a compartment.

Next up is to put them in an Edge Flex box since I can orient them the exact way I'd like.

Given the squid scent, some kind of seal is a winning idea though.
