Sound like a dealer I was going to buy a 2001 Camry from.  This was toward the end of the year and I was wanting one with ABS brakes.  There was one at another dealership somewhere like I wanted.  This one was fully loaded, leather seats, alloy wheels, sun roof, the whole package and couple thousand more than I was really wanting to pay.   We finally negotiated a price that was about $4,000 less than the sticker price and told them to get it.   When we went to pick it up, they tried the team approach, with the sales manager coming in and say because this car had, this and that, it was going to be more, almost $3,000 more.  I told them they knew that before, and we had already settled on the price.  They said we could make a deal if I could come up some,  I told him I could come up a lot, up out of my seat and walked out.   Went to another dealer ship about 25 miles away and ended buying almost the same car, just a different color, I liked better, for $4,500 off the sticker price.  

Later that day, the first dealership called me trying to strong arm me in that I had made a contract to buy that car and they had it brought in for me.  I told him where to go and he voided that contract when he tried to hustle for more money.    I've owned six Toyota's, three have been Highlanders, since then and have never put foot in that first dealership since.

I decided to give the dealership another chance when we bought the Highlander because the wife wanted a dealer close by where she could drop the car off for service and get a loaner.  The Highlander was a CPO used vehicle that came with that additional 1 year warranty.  She put 3,000 miles on it and I told her to go ahead and schedule it for an oil change.  I warned her that this will be how we know we will have to deal with them in the future.  She dropped it off and sure enough about 3 hours later they called her and told her that it needed an alignment for $122, a brake fluid flush and a couple of other things.  She absolutely uncorked on the service manager because we just bought it, it was a CPO vehicle and she only drove it 3,000 miles.  He apologized and said it was his fault for not noticing we just bought it.  Did they do any of the “suggested” work?  Nope.

I've got a 2015 (first aluminum one) F150, V8. I'm coming of a lifetime of chevy's. The Ford has been the best vehicle I've ever owned. 80k miles, no repairs. Krown undercoating and NO rust anyplace and I'm in Maine. I just replaced the tires but could have kept them another year. Decided new ones would be better on my camp road in the winter. Same brakes and they're still in the green during inspection. I tow a small camper. The truck doesn't know it's there. Avg. 21.5mpg. I had a silverado... nice truck but I was un-inspectable with frame rust at 84k miles. Put a ton of $$ in brakes and other repairs. Really did not get my money's worth out of that one. The change to Ford was a nail biter to me but I'm sold. Of course a new vehicle is always a crap shoot. Your mileage may vary (pun intended)

That's right. I had a very heavy, older, Starcraft pop up camper. It cost me about 1-2mpg to tow it. I now have small camper that weighs less, aluminum,  but is very tall. Mileage drops about 40%. When I go down a steep grade the thing acts like aerobrakes. When towing it's all about wind resistance.

True story - I actually get way worse gas mileage in my V8 4Runner with a Nucanoe on top that I do with a 14 ft tin behind it. It really drags on the interstate.

In the mid to late 80's I did car prep/detailing at a new and used car dealership, with Chicago mafia ownership. I was in my teens and did what I was told. People would come in with a trade in and we were frequently told to remove distributor wires to help the salesmen seal the deal.

I will be purchasing a truck in the near future and I was wondering if a Tacoma would be able to tow a bass boat comfortably. I know that they can tow up to 6800 pounds with the tow package but being that it is a mid-size truck I am a bit worried when it comes to towing long distances (over 200 miles). I do not own a bass boat at the moment but definitely will in the future. I am open to getting an aluminum boat because it is lighter but I kind of want a fiberglass boat. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.
