Who makes the best? Stick It? Someone else?

I was thinking about making one for my bass raider. I was thinking of putting a  eye hook through the transom and getting a 8’ fiberglass rod to put through it. It seems good on paper.

I use a SuperStick to push pole and it works great. There’s an anchor pin option but I’ve never used it. Not a cheap option but good quality stuff.

My boat has the u-bolts thru the transom for trailering, I use the green landscaping tree stakes from Lowe’s or Home Depot.
So basically the same thing your talking about.

Green tree stakes are impossible to find. I watched multiple DIY youtube videos that used the tree stakes. I ended up buying a kit from Max Gain Systems that came in 3 pieces. The pole, the spike, and the T handle. Per their instructions I used JB Weld and #6-32 machine screws for assembly. Seems solid. Shipping an 8' box cost almost as much as the kit.

I have 2 of these for a kayak with the 3/4" stock and several threaded couplings.  I could hypothetically have one be 2' or 14', but usually I leave them both 8'.  They're good for fishing grass on the Potomac, but I don't use them for much else.  They hold a kayak rock steady, I'm not sure how big of a tin boat they will hold, but I guess you'll find out

It's a 14 footer and I bought 2. Figure I can put them thru the hand holds on the transom. I'm taking the boat out for her maiden voyage tomorrow. Don't know if I'll use them tomorrow. I'm more interested in finding out if the boat floats.

These won't help you much if it doesn't.  

 

It might easier to tie a short piece of cord through them than try to drive them into the bottom through a narrow opening.  In my case I drive them in, then fasten them to my anchor trolley with a carabiner.

Stick it will work in Power pole micro if you decide to up grade. I have 2)8’ and one 10’ pole. The 10’ pole gives a lot but makes a great push pole.

I originally used two 8' kits from Max Gain Systems and eventually bought enough parts to bring them to 10' or 12' (or leave at 8'6") depending on my need. Found that I did not like them longer than 10', and 8'6" did the trick most of the time. I used a couple of loops of 550 (para) cord through the cleats on the front of my boat to hold the anchors in place. When I was not using them, I slid the handles back to another pair of loops mid-boat, which kept them out of the way but still easy to deploy. I found, however, that I would always hesitate to deploy them and redeploy them becuase I still disliked it even though it was not that difficult. The biggest issue was keeping them vertical given my choice (550 cord loops) of securing them.

 

I've since bought a pair power pole micro drivers and repurposed them (back to original 8' config) for use in the micro driver and they work great.. also work a make-shift push poles when I need them to. Having the power pole micros drivers, I don't give a second thought to using them, but it was an expense I'd rather not of had.
