Kbert1171 Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 I'd really like to mount my tripleshot transducer to my MinnKota Edge trolling motor, but the skeg is HUGE. I'll be upgrading the motor in the future, but for now, the Edge is what I have to work with. Should I cut off the skeg to mount the super (long) ducer, or figure out another type of mount for it? I really don't want to leave it on the transom. I'd much rather look at what I'm over, instead of what I've already passed over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA. Quote
Hoosierman Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Here's what I use on my tracker vesatrac and triple shot transducer (wouldn't fit on my Terrova). https://fishingspecialties.com/shop/ols/products/bowducer-for-livesight-side-view-and-downview-transducers 1 Quote
Kbert1171 Posted April 7, 2021 Author Posted April 7, 2021 Thanks, Hoosierman. After looking at this, I've decided that I'm going to make my own, out of PVC and HDPE. Add a couple bearings, and I'll have exactly what I need. I appreciate your help, my friend. Tight Lines. Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Yep I had to build a mounting bracket for my tripleshot too. When I opened the box I was thinking oh crap how in the world am I gonna mount this thing to my trolling motor? I opted for the pvc as well. I’ve been using it for a year like that without problems , knock on wood. 1 Quote
Biglittle8 Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 This is how mine is mounted on a Edge. Aluminum angle. 1 Quote

It looks great, and I'd lime to see how you did it. Thank you. Quote

Kbert1171 Posted April 22, 2021 Author Posted April 22, 2021 Biglittle8, the message encountered a problem and I couldn't get it. Could you send it to my email? kbert1171@gmail.com I would appreciate that. I finally have a weekend off and would like to get some things done for a change. Quote
Kbert1171 Posted April 22, 2021 Author Posted April 22, 2021 Biglittle8, nevermind, I finally got the pics. Excellent setup. Very sharp. Don't suppose you'd want to build another one, for me? Lol. I'll show it to my buddies in the maintenance department and see if they can make one for me, unless you are going to. Either way, that is a fantastic mount and I really appreciate the pics. Thanks again and tight lines, my friend. Quote
Kbert1171 Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 For the time being, I built a PVC pole and attached it to a RAM mount. That way I can keep it where I need it while using the trolling motor. Haven't got to try it yet, as I'm installing a CMC tilt/trim unit for my outboard because my back is wrecked. Thanks again to everyone for their help and input. I really appreciate it. (I'll add pics later) Tight lines, my friends. Peace. Quote
Wolfpen warrior Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Big little 8, could you please send me those pics of how you mounted the triple shot? I've already ordered it but wasn't considering how difficult it would be to mount to my minn Kota edge. Thanks you sir Quote
@reelChris Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Instead of making your own mount, you can use this offset transducer mount: https://johnnyraysports.com/product/jr-2-transducer-bracket/ It bolts to the trolling motor shaft and then you simply screw the transducer bracket to the flat part so that it rides parallel to the trolling motor body Quote
Steven Williams Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 BigLittle8, could I get a copy of the pics? Just purchased a TripleShot, and I have an Edge 45. Does the proximity of the motor housing interfere with the side scan? Also, what would be the potential issues with mounting an L shaped piece of angle iron to the skeg, and then attaching the TripleShot to that via the Transom mount supplied? Quote
