I was thinking about adding 903 Lure range 1/4 to 3/4, If you have this rod, What you'll use it for?

I am guessing this the G Loomis IMX Pro 903C.

I would use it for T-Rigged soft plastic, light jigs, and maybe chatterbaits.  Another thought, I might use it for drop shot with a 3/16 oz or 1/4 oz weight.  It would depend on the rod tip though.  It would need to soft with a strong middle and grip.

On a side note, I have the 903C IMX Pro CBR and it loads a 3/8oz crank perfectly.  It's well made and fun to fish.  I like the length and the balance of this rod.  I would hope that the same characteristics are in the 903C MBR.

I have the E6X version of the MBR903C and i use it for everything.

but it excels throwing spinnerbaits, crankbaits and big inline spinners.

I don't do a lot of bottom bait fishing where i am, but I know people use it for jigs etc without issue.

I have the 903C Conquest. I use it for 1/4 oz T-rigs and jerkbaits, but it can do a whole lot more. Very versatile rod for any bait around 1/2 oz, and with NRX sensitivity too (I used to own two NRX 893C's).

P.S. Just checked the price, and the 903C Conquest now costs $720!!

With that level of sensitivity, it screams out for weightless or lightly weighted plastic.  A back-slide craw/tube, a Trickworm, a 10’ Culprit with a 1/8oz weight, stuff like that.

Should I go with 10lb test TATSU?

I am a big fan of the 3 power MBR rods and I have gone through a lot of different feelings about the ideal line weight.   I have settled into the “12 to 14lb Sniper” zone.

The 10lb feels to me to be too limiting to the power these rods can bring to the table and 16lb feels too thick and wirey for the lighter end of the rod’s range.  When my supplies of 12lb run out I’ll probably only replace the 14lb as, at least with Sniper, the handling difference seems minimal and I’d rather have a little more strength.

The funny thing is a lot of the work I do is making shop drawings/writing work orders and I am usually scrupulous about checking dimension callouts. Maybe it’s a little bit of self-rebellious, but I make that mistake when it comes to tackle sizes all the time
