Super User Koz Posted March 28, 2021 Super User Posted March 28, 2021 When it comes to soft plastic stick baits, we all know about how productive the Yamamoto Senko has been throughout the years. There's no denying that. I love the Senko. They catch a lot of fish. But they tear easily and after a while that gets expensive. Then one day at BPS I picked up a big bag of beefy Stik-O-Worms for $4 or $5. I have caught a ton of bass on these both wacky rigged and Texas rigged. Best of all, they hold up well for multiple catches. It took me a while to go through the bag. Today was not an ideal day to fish anything other than a Texas rigged stick bait in the cove behind my hotel. There's not only tons of pollen on the water, but there are these stringy seed pods from trees all throughout the entire water column. So it was either throw a frog on top or a stick worm throughout the column. Unfortunately for me, bass were not fooled by the early appearance of a frog. But it was good going on the Stik-O-Worm. Good enough that I didn't even break out a Senko. So next time you need to stock up on stick baits you may want to grab a package of Stik-O-Worms and give them a try. 3
schplurg Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 I like 'em. I use those or YUM Dingers, not caring which I put on, and usually not noticing. But I've never tried a Yamamoto Senko. I'd say BPS Stik-Os are a little tougher than dingers. If YUM would get rid of the slot in them they'd be perfect. 4
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 28, 2021 Super User Posted March 28, 2021 I switched over to Stik-Os some years ago from Senkos. I've never noticed a difference in the bite between the two. 1
volzfan59 Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 When I worked at BPS, we couldn't keep the 30 count bags of green pumpkin in stock! I use the small 3" size creek fishing. 2
sdsc357 Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Like others I switched to these and have not gone back to senkos. 1
RDB Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Went old school today on a heavily pressured lake and broke out the merthiolate trick worms. Had a solid bag.
Kdizzle Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 All you need to do is put a small split shot above the line tie when wacky rigging, and you get the same fluttering action on the fall for a Dinger or Stick-O that you would with a Senko. 1
Yakalong Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 BPS worms work, caught plenty off them. Usually when ordering from BPS, if I need to get $50 for free shipping I will buy one of their worms in a color I wouldn't normally throw. It has paid off a few times with the "off" colored worms. 2
LCG Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 The stick-o's are one of my main confidence baits. Love them, always pick up a few of the big bags when I go there to shop, not often, but once or twice a year. Can't have enough of them stock piled 1

I like the Yum Dinger also, but they don't seem to last as long on my Texas rigs. +1on getting rid of the slot! The price and color selection is great .
Jaderose Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Stik-o's are the only thing I still buy from BPS on a regular basis. I caught a weird sale on 30 packs a couple of years ago and stocked up big time. IMHO, they are as good as Senkos.
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 29, 2021 Super User Posted March 29, 2021 This argument has been going on for a decade or two... Goodnight Irene. 2
