Can you give me directions?

Everybody knows where Lake Menderchuck is, it’s no big secret.

For shear numbers of fish caught the Everglades system should be included.  Hundreds of bass can be caught during a full day of fishing.

Looks like it's beginning to take shape. The usual suspects are near the top, but there's a few surprises too.

Well, California did fare better than Virginia, but that ain't sayin' much in this poll, LOL. Even people with electoral supremacy don't necessarily vote in their own self-interest ?

Full Disclosure: I only voted for two California lakes (Clear Lake, Delta) myself.

IMHO, whatever the reasons may be, the heyday of several southern California lakes on this list is mostly ancient history. They used to be small and stingy but had monster bass in them. Now, they are mostly just small and stingier.

Keep in mind Castiac lagoon is part of lake Castiac and both have and earned history and deserved reputation. Very different lake now.

Lake Casitas has always been a tough lake to fish, put in the time and be rewarded. The last 2 tournaments needed 24 lbs to win but half the field struggled...that is lake Casitas in a nut shell and always has been.

Several NorCal lakes offer better overall bass fishing then SoCal lakes.

The lagoon should be counted separately IMHO. If it was, I could make a good argument for voting for it.

Yep, Casitas can still kick out some decent bags, but it seems like for many, if you have decent luck at Castaic, you struggle at Casitas and vice versa. I've heard both called 'Lake No-Fish' by anglers that figure out one, but not the other.

The worst part is that the authorities in charge have made it unfeasible to fish both lakes. To fish Casitas (as I understand it), you have to make an appointment to have you boat inspected, bring your boat there for the inspection, leave it there in their quarantine yard for . . . . 35 days, and then you can fish there. I have heard of people buying a second boat so they can fish different lakes in SoCal without having to wait during the quarantine periods.

Off topic. The Casitas quarantine time period is 35 days but you take the cabled tagged boat ant trailer home waiting out the time period, can’t use it anywhere. This is the same for Cachuma but both lakes will not honor the others tag system.

Castaic is a 7 day quarantine after inspection shared with lake Pyramid. If a boat and trailer is clean and dry, inspected and tagged all the lakes should honor the others same system! Cachuma isn’t on anyone’s list but excellent bass lake, better then DVL.

No love for Shearon Harris in NC? Badin has my heart but by no means a top bass fishery that should be on this list, imo.

I've only fished 5 of the listed. Voted for 3 of the 5

You made me curious. Had to look. Been to 13 of them.  Voted only for the two I know best.

Hey folks!  I'm putting together an article that lists your top picks. Since you chose them, it's only fitting that I showcase your photos of these fisheries.

So if you voted, please PM me with your favorite pics of these fisheries.  I'll be sure to give you credit in the article.

Thanks!

What kind of pictures do you need? Just the water or fish and people? Which bodies of water do you need pictures of?

I just sent a Google Earth overhead shot of one of my 'haunts' and a little write-up on it.

It's the ones you voted for. If you have a pic taken on/of the lake, with or without you or somebody holding a fish (can be scenic), that's what I'm looking for.
