Catfish in Northern NY?

I've never caught a catfish (if you don't count bullhead).  I live near Massena, NY.  I know we have catfish, but I've never heard of a place you can reliably target and catch catfish.  Any ideas?

I know a lot of people fish for them under the Rte 12E bridge at Chaumont.  I've seen giants cruising around the bay while fishing for bass.

Lake Champlain and the Hudson River north of Albany have Channel Catfish.
