Saw these today at the Philly Fishing Show. $10/jar. Figured why not. Any updates from anyone who tried them yet?

I saw that guy there, BS a bit with him on Friday about his product. Good luck with it. I see where he is going to push it in a melt down form of it in a block for it to be applied to hard baits and spoons. I never asked for a sample. Maybe an egg/bead installed in front of a Texas rig worm.

Literally the first thought I had upon opening this thread was, "How far down will I have to scroll to find the first mention of the SNL Schweddy Balls skit?"

It didn't take long! haha

You can get those for free after 2 hours in the captains chair on a hot muggy day.

Joke's aside, it sounds like another way to add scent that doesn't just wash off. Im partial to the megastrike paste, but I like the idea.

I'm not willing to bite. The owner went on to say the balls/eggs do not hold up well and break off and apart, especially in rocky areas. They don't float so they won't help your bait with being more buoyant. To me I can do the same thing with a piece of Velvetta Cheese or chunk of Parmesan Cheese.

Ah, given that I would agree with you then. What's the point if their durability is 0?

Most likely the reason they are pushing this in blocks and use it in a melt down form and pour it on. Maybe they are truly on to something, I don't know. I don't fish enough spoons in a two year period to pour in onto. Could help salmon fishing. Maybe, maybe not.

Back in 1961 fishing Bull Shoals I hooked a trot line and pull it up the remove my lure. A boat came running up to me the man was shouting at me. I told the man I was removing my lure and he settled. Check his line and baited the hooks with Concord grapes. I could smell the anise oil he soaked the grapes in. The man boat was loaded with big catfish, so the grapes obviously worked.

Smelly purple balls....

Yeah he told me the same about the block. But also said that you can easily melt the balls down the same way and apply them to spoons or any hard bait really. Im going to experiment some with them, see how the balls work themselves as well as melted down on spoons or other lures.

Shocked no one here has actually tried them out.

Heck for $10.00 - $12.00 it’s worth the try and fun. Good luck with it. I love the name.

I have wasted more than $40 on other stuff, and this seems well, fun.

Ordered, will review if I remember.

So did anything ever bite your balls? Are your balls still usable after all this time or did they slowly fall apart or shrivel up from non-use?

That is what I figured and supporting a local small business, win win in my book. I have purchased far worse and dumb stuff haha Thanks, I will report back!

Going to use the Shrimp balls while surf fishing next week in Mexico. Fair warning I have some very basic gear, and never surf fished before so.... results may vary ?
